my name is con wong and senior program manager for grants the arts. i would like to acknowledge a few of my colleagues here. [inaudible] pointing them out because should a question be posed i don't know the answer to one of them may step up and answer it. thank you very much for your time and attention to this matter. we are going keep this as brief as possible. i'll give you a brief overview of the programs and then review responses to the budget analyst report and then look at strategies moving forward. so, as you see on the slide we existed since 1961 under the charter to promote city through economic investment in the arts. our program is consistent and full ilfilling the expectation set in the charter by the codes and we have then a national and international model of arts funding over the years. this is a a overview of our program. all the grants programs. we would like to note the budget analyst report focused only on our general operating support funds, which is the largest chunk, however we do have 1.2 million dollars in our other grant progr

over the years, i work witched candace wong, i could not speak more highly of an individual wall who dedicated her life to this work, so candace wong to seat 8, seats 7 and 6 are a little more difficult, i would say that again, i would be thrilled to the have any of these applicants take over seat 6 and 7, i would say that for seat 6, i am very compelled to appoint ms. kim garcia-meza to that seat, especially given my background, immigrant parent ts, chinese was my first language, providing for that cultural -- or bilingual opportunity for the young students, i think, is really important tosh able to preserve that cultural heritage but allow them to assimilate into a new country, i appreciate that focus and i would be happy to see kim garcia-meza in seat 6 and in terms of seat 7, i'm really torn, i like both kathie herrera-autumn and fonda david son, they bring different experiences but both are good to this committee, so supervisor avalos? >> well, thank you, and you actually with the seat 7 was the one that was most difficult for me and i do appreciate the work and the experience o

it's more of an observation. >> thank you, council member wong. cochair supanich has a question? >> just a few. first of all, i'm so happy to see muni making improvements because i would imagine there is a long exit line of muni users turning to new forms of transportation to get around our streets and it only leads to increase congestion especially when they are allowed to use muni bus stops. so i question the decision making on that from muni but anyway, i'm really happy to see these changes. the first thing i wanted to ask about is the transit signal priority, will that only be on the rapid lines? >> no. we are in the process of creating 600 traffic signals in the city that will allow transit signal priority. we are, i guess you would say focusing on the rapid lines first but we are also focusing downtown soma area, for the 10, 12, they get stuck in traffic lines. it not just rapid, it's where we are noticing a lot of issues related to heavy traffic and where we can help. >> will it be on market? >> you know what, yeah, portions of market are already done and yeah, the rest is
