good evening, everyone and mike mibach and i'm claudine wong. killing happened at about two o'clock this afternoon. this was in downtown oakland, near 14th and broadway. officers say they responded to calls of two men with gunshot. wounds one victim was pronounced dead at the scene. another was taken to the hospital and is undergoing surgery. police say there were a lot of people around when it all happened and they are hoping witnesses come forward. we are at this time investigating all leads. we're reviewing surveillance footage and following up on those leads again, asking anybody who may have any surveillance footage who may have seen every anything than a witness to please contact our department. at one point the shooting did briefly interrupt a city council meeting. investigators have not identified the two men who were shot, nor have they discussed a motive. and about an hour before that shooting. oakland police called a news conference
