so what's interesting is if you look at our greenhouse gas he mission -- so here's my wonk slide. so this is looking at the transportation sector, so transportation alone is 46% of our emissions, and so that's a huge amount of co2 emissions coming out of the transportation sector. the red on this chart is vehicles. so while b.a.r.t. is about 5%, caltrain is about 2%, really what we're going to have to do is tackle cars and trucks. so in order to tackle the car part of cars and trucks, we need to get pea people out of their cars. and in fact, our department, the department of the environment works very hard on this issue. we are a small but mighty team in the commission on the environment. we support our agencies in another wonky term which is called transportation demand management, so transportation demand, we're managing the demand for transportation and hoping to do mode shift. so you're going to hear tonight about how we do mode shift, how we get people out of their cars. as we heard in one of the awards, one way you get people out of their car social security to make them fee

i wrote for my mother so my mother could read it, but also for policy wonks and academics because i think we all need access to this information. we want to trust the medicines we take. those medicines that can mean the difference between life and death. we need to know where do our medicines come from? why are we dependent increasingly on a single country? one of the risks and what can we do about it. i was going to bring my smart phone and my medicine bottles. one of the questions i get asked the most is how come i didn't know about this. how come i didn't know that there is growing dependence of the united states on china for so many of our medicines. if you take a look at your smart phone and you look on the back, at least mine says designed in california and assembled in china. if you've ever gotten those amber colored plastic bottles with white caps that tells you how to take your medicine, what the doses, but it doesn't tell you where comes from. there's no reason we should kno know. let me tell you about what this dramatic shift in where medicines come from looks like. one of the

first of all, as a constitutional wonk, it's the most exciting thing i ever experienced. there are 80 clauses the constitution. i teach this stuff. it is the interactive constitution in the app store or online. and the college board, i'm doing my plugs here but it's so exciting. the college board agreed to work with us to create a two week course on the first amendment that they're going to require of all five million ap students and then the next goal is to bring it not just to ap students but to every citizen in america. but the federalist society and the american constitution society love working with each other and the scholars, remarkably, this is another extraordinary thing, were able to agree on their 1,000 word statements quickly. there are only a couple cases where they had a lot of back and forth. and that's because it turns out that there is much more about the constitution than united states us than divides us. so we have this great role to play. we can fight the polarization. >> we have to move on. a quick comment? >> quick comment. the whole issue about info
