on the peninsula now portola valley and woodside into redwood city is coming in with la honda headedoward los altos menlo park and coming in full board from the santa cruz coast into the santa cruz mountains. that is near the radar site but it is lighting up and it is all associated with the cold core coming rotating in. this is a very dynamic system producing a lot of lightning and hail. this will continue through the day. we don't even have any heat yet even though temperatures are cool we will get some afternoon heating. some reports of snow in mendocino county into lake county likely warming up a little bit and then coming back into snow later tonight. 40s and 50s so we are quite cool with a good breeze at san carlos gusting up to 22 miles per hour. a blustery cool day with off and on rain then we have some sun breaks with another downpour and it is another cold system. initial cells are popping up and then they collapse a little bit by the afternoon which creates the outflow boundary and as the air goes out it begins to lift and i am concerned about severe storms this afternoon.
