today we have two workshops. we have a morning session, then there be a break and then an afternoon session. i printed some things out of large size sheets. the fall agenda -- the full agenda and some of the labs that are here that seem so big did not look that big when we printed them out on half size, so i wanted you to have the benefit of the larger size print. so, just to review from the agenda, workshop runs from 10:00 until noon. we will be walking through the rest of the projects we did not get to on april 27, talking through some of the questions that have come up at previous meetings and responding to them, then moving on to level of service discussions. there will be words on technology from our progress engineering group. we will also talk about the rate of impact. workshop #7 will start in the afternoon at 1:30, where we will talk about flooding, community benefits, climate change, sustainability. at the end of the day there is a potential commission action to endorse the goals and levels of service a

so the workshop will be having discussions about that. there will be a break-out session amongst the lawyers, to have a discussion about legal strategies that were used to get the ballot name changed and some of the things that were key in actually making sure that the proposition ended up failing or that the voters had well education about what the proposition was really about. so that is what the focus of the workshop is on is on that type of item, you know. we have people coming from all over northern california. i think even a couple of people from southern california are coming up to attend this event and be part of these workshops and have a discussion. and once that is done, there will actually be a celebration afterwards that people are also welcome to come to as well. this will be taking place at the merchants exchange building here in san francisco. the workshops start at 1:00, go till about 5:00. the party starts about 5:30. so we will be doing that. as of this morning we had 66 people signed up for the workshop, and we actuall

since the community workshop and at the community workshop, we received a number of commons. most of them work around these six areas regarding have attacked. there were comments that we need to identify appropriate places to allow for future habitat and make sure that they are compatible with the types of programming and news is we are talking about for some of the open spaces. there were also comments regarding environmental issues, indicating that we need to identify more clearly in the document where there are issues related to contamination that may impact future open spaces. we also need to look at accommodating sea level rise as part of the future planning. ford's discussion about water access, how we need to plan for a future date that is more accessible for swimmers and people that want to actively engage in water access and water activities and look for the appropriate places that can accommodate those uses, and then, there is also the desire that we continue to look at how we improve access and circulation, so how can we improve illinois street carve away, and the

[applause] >> hello i'm charl davis program direct for the mo magic which is western addition fillmore of adolescent growth in our communities. i'm a resident of the western addition and been doing work in the community before this was organized. mo magic is part of the bay view mag i believing in the public defentders office it started in the bay view in 2004. last year supervisor mirkarimi liked the work that was doing done with be magic and wanted it expanded to the western edition. as of november of last year the program was organized. it seeks to bring community based organizations. cities and residents to talk about how to best serve the community and how we can work all together. we meet every other week in the western addition to discuss that. even though it's focused on the western addition we try to work with everyone in district 5. in serving the y

we concluded the second phase with the third workshop in may. as part of covering the existing conditions, as a document, we wanted to review existing plans and policies that are in place. there are three categories along the blue green light. there are existing plans and policies that affect the entire system. there are existing plans and policies that were developed through neighborhood plans, and then, there are existing community plans that were developed throughout the length of the system, so we reviewed all of those documents, summarized all those elements that are pertinent to the blue- green way, and included that summary within the document we prepared. as well as looking at the existing conditions, we wanted to look at what the resources of open spaces are that are out there today, not only along the blue green light, but within half a mile so that we could identify what types of deficiencies might exist and how new carts might be able to fill those efficiency gaps. to help organize the blue green way, approximately 13 miles long, we
