this is something that we participated in the workshops where i represented in the workshops. however, on the final plan, there are a number of areas where we think the plan could be improved. about the plan as it was presented to us. we have a couple things that are sort of applied to the whole plan, then i will talk a little bit about problems we have with various objectives. we think the plan should refer to the voter adopted transit first policy in the other policy objectives of the agency. it has been adopted twice by voters of san francisco and we believe it serves as an important guidepost for the agency. when we talk about the objectives of the agency, we have to remember that some of those objectives have been set by the voters. we think of the transit first policy and was adopted by the voters should be incorporated in this plan. we think is very important to understand that that is the genesis of this agency. with regard to specific recommendations, with the conduct of 1.1 should specifically include bicycle and pedestrian safety, and that we should add an objective

kerny street workshops began as a community teaching space inside the international hotel. after the evictions they relocated but kept their name and community spirit. during the 80's and 90's ksw curated the american jazz festiv festiv festival. it's gallery feature artists and host of the annual ground breaking festival. they remain within the community. kerny street is still home with people can express what it means to be asian american. >> we are celebrating or 35th anniversary. in august we were founded in 1972. there are 3 founders. there was not a lot of original art work coming out of china town they wanted to provide incentives for development and create expressions they opened in in the international hotel in manila town and the first the programming was a lot of workshop and silk screening and sewing, music and visual arts and different kinds of performance. in the 70's ksw was involved in the actions going to the actions and when they were being evicted from the hotel they were protesting and it was that kind of action. it's evolved a lot from that from the 70'

here is the pictures of the workshop. very hands-on. here is a picture of the crow waltrail walks. we have identified improvements for the park -- term, many of which are not yet funded, and improvements for the lower part. right now we're moving forward with the most important improvements identified by the community through the clean and safe neighborhood parks fund. here is more examples of the type of options we consider. right now we're moving forward with the improvements outlined in red, which are funded through the $5.8 million clean and safe parks' fund project. by bringing in these funds, we were able to preserve more of those funds to go into the physical improvements to the site, instead of putting a lot of funds on the outreach, which is really important, but let us do more with our dollars. we're going to be putting an end to playground that is much larger. it has pressure-treated lumber, which means it has substances in the wood that are not good and we will be removing the playground and putting in a much bigger one. relocating the tennis courts providing new access

this morning, i sat in on the workshops and i was very encouraged. a lot of people like roma were there, people we have all work together at various points in our lives the last 20 years, but there were also a lot of new faces, young faces, and it is encouraging that our city has so many dedicated women were willing to spend the time, volunteer time for the most part, to make this city one of the greatest leaders for women's issues and rights and equality. i think we have proven that. i am very encouraged that perhaps in the next four, five years we will get ahead in terms of our own country stepping up to the plate. thank you again, and thank you, shelly.
