. >> yeah, but infrastructure should go back, if you're going to do that, go back to fdr, do the wpa. pay people to work, but they work. anthony: then those wages recirculate back into the economy which leads to some modest growth. >> exactly. but her plan will not get you 5% growth. no way. anthony: do you think that -- you looked at natural gas industry, a democratic president does what to that industry? is that a massive recessionary force in that industry? >> a democrat, you say? anthony: yeah, either of the two candidates? >> all they talk about is renewables, wind and solar. wind and solar, you know, it doesn't -- wind doesn't blow every day and the sun doesn't shine every day. wind and solar will never be a big percentage of power generation. it gets 10%? sure it can get there. maybe 20. but you have to do that with natural gas is where you are on power generation. anthony: mark, what kind of policies would you recommend to the next president for the energy industry, and specifically the natural gas industry? >> in terms of energy infrastructure, i think that if government trie

buildings designed in the wpa in the 30's and painted by two women, 3 women actually. the building was initially created in 1925. it was used as a mothers building in the 1960's when it was decommissioned and used as a ancillary building for the zoo as a gift shop mainly and [inaudible] until 2000 when it was decommissioned and hasn't been used since. these are images of the mural. they were painted in egg tempera which is unusual. different from a typical fresco that is painted on wet plaster, this was painted on dry plaster. you can see it is a incredible asset we have. the conditions assessment was funded by the historic preservation fund committee. they provided a grant over $100,000 to do the assessment. they went out and did a survey to identify the issues with the buildings and what would be need today bring it up too [inaudible] and restore it. they broke down the assessment into 3 categories of work, short term work that needs to be done soon tostabilize the building and long term work that would restore the murals, provide ada access and bring the building tu

you spoke with shaw of the wpa and of the artwork he did and the crowds, and i just got the book -- i haven't been able to check of the indexes -- [laughter] mr. bender: are you -- >> in the group, i seem to see this whole left-wing coterie. mr. bender: was it written by michael denning? there is a book, and it might be one of those things where you arrange the figures in one way, you're going to get a very different richer -- different picture. i think that the late 1940's was that time andh of it was the last hurrah of the wallace campaign. ben shaw is certainly one of the most important artists, and leonard bernstein supported his president, wallace, my father supported wallace's run for president. my dad went to work on wpa. we had a lot of programs, but fha at that time, it helped a lot of people. we estimated just a few years ago. communism happened with good solid democratic programs. we can be very proud of those programs. now along with that, we went a little too far in some of those programs. and we have to correct those. and now you're talking about intrusion of government. i e.r.a., he said he would lose that. he said that e.r.a., he would use the power of the federal government to withhold projects -- >> no, i didn't. >> yes, i dyou did, i'll read io you if i have enough time here. >> you can read it on the next turn around. >> i will. fine, but he said he would withhold federal projects. that's an intrusion as far as i'm concerned. i think that is flat wrong. when you're going to intrude into people's lives on that basis with federal project, he's had an industrial policy that said you want to make choices in credit and allocate toez things. and that intrudes the federal government into business

massive expansion of government which is how he got us out of the bad economic times, right, with the wpa and vast investments in government programs throughout the country. i don't know if that is something that bernie sanders is willing to embrace, although it's something he's talked about, as well. and also roosevelt led us into war, biggest war of the last century. so i'm not sure that bernie wants to embraceneverthel the l isser terrific and a good message for him to send saying we will take back the nation. >> and his shot at winning new yo york, what does he have to do? >> the problem for bernie sanders winning new york is because these are proportional distribution dell fwegatesdelege to win an overwhelming majority in order to make a significant difference in hillary clinton's delegate lead. so winning any kind of victory for him would be enormous and he could claim huge moral support, but it still wouldn't get him that much closer to the nomination unless he just tromps her across the state which i very much doubt. >> bob, i know you sat down with donald trump earlier this week.
