director wray? dir. wray: we have done a number of things. first, we have increased the outreach to state and local law enforcement and others to improve the reporting of hate crimes as well as outreach to faith-based communities, because one of the things we know about hate crimes as they are chronically underreported. we have a lot of engagement there, and that undoubtedly contributes to the increase in reported hate crimes. in addition, we have created a domestic terrorism hate crime fusion cell to try to get at offenses, hate-based violent extremes offenses against faith-based communities, which could either be domestic terrorism or hate crimes. the idea was to bring the expertise of both together. that has, in turn, that some of the most proactive hate crime cases, including one in particular, a disruption of an attempted bombing of a synagogue. we have had a number of cases like that that we are doing. we also elevated hate crimes to a national threat priority. it is sensitive outreach to faith-based communities and extensive investigat
