joining us now is brendan keith, chief investigator at wxia 11 alive in atlanta. brendan, what did you learn? >> well, we learned this, katy, that the current investigation of garrett rolfe is his third for firearms and use of force in his seven-year career with the atlanta police department. and the department reprimanded rolfe in writing back in 2017 after a year-long internal affairs investigation for use of force involving his firearm. and then there's this 2015 incident. in 2015 rolfe and other atlanta police officers were accused of a cover-up by both the defendant and a judge for failing to mention they fired multiple shots into a stolen truck, hitting the driver. rolfe fired three shots into the vehicle according to fulton county court records. two other officers fired one shot each. and jackie harris, the defendant, the suspect, was hit in the center of his back. the police incident report was full of details including a minor injury to an officer's finger but made no mention of the shots fired or that the suspect was hit. judge doris downs said from the

. >> joining us from atlanta is investigative reporter with wxia-tv andy piratti.udge come to his decision? is it. >> hi, chuck. i believe that what stuck out to the judge the most was that lead investigator that you just heard from the georgia bureau of investigation really describing in detail how the three men coordinated and essentially hunt down mr. arbery and ultimately kill him. one of the men that stuck out is william ryan. he's the person that originally said he was just the witness to the crime. he came across and pulled out his cell phone and started recording. well, according to that investigator on the stand yesterday, he really took his time to essentially describe how he was using his vehicle to run him off the road and capture mr. arbery, listen to how the investigator described it. >> he made several statements about trying to block him in and use his vehicle to try to stop him his statement was that mr. arbery kept trying -- jumping out of the way. he would go down into the ditch to avoid his truck. >> so he and mcmichael gregory and travis mcmich

one of the headlines from wxia in atlanta, despite assurances from department, overnight police radioeveals bouts of silence and calls left unanswered. are the atlanta police too scared to do their job? >> absolutely. you know, the mayor has come out publicly and basically gotten rid of the policy for use of force. our officers don't know what their guidelines are what to do and what not to do and even as early as last night the officer was standing around where there was a shooting, the ones that did show up, and a gentleman stood up for what appears for no reason assaulting the officer pushing him back. the officer did not make an arrest. they took care of the person who was wounded and got out of there. so, again, i don't see anybody, the mayor saying anything about that, about our officers. so, there's a -- i think everybody can look around and see why officers are feeling sick these days. leland: fox news polling just out now refusing funding for police departments and moving funds to different social services, 41% favor, 46% opposed. what do you have to say to those 41%? >> well
