in wyoming, half of our land is owned by the federal government. this includes indian reservations, wildlife refuge, national parks, national recreation areas, and the vast bureau of land management holdings. and violin we are very proud of our natural parks. all of our parks. each year we host millions of visitors that come to enjoy the spectacular views and iconic wildlife of the grand tetons and of yellowstone national park. this year is a landmark for wyoming in the park service as we celebrate the 105th anniversary of yellowstone. the department also manages water, fight wildfires, overseas grazing and facilitates outdoor recreation. the west is confronting a historic drought with, rather rise drying up, it concerns me the bureau reclamation was the only bureau at the interior department that was actually cut in the budget request this year. the department needs to prioritize our rural ranching and farming communities. without water to grow crops and raise cattle, these communities would not exist. the food needs of the american people would b

she is pretty far behind in the polls in wyoming. what she has done for the american people tonight, is that going to help or hurt her? >> well, i think liz cheney's goal is public service. i worked with liz cheney in 2000 and 2004. i've had criticisms of liz cheney, related to the iraq war and a number of other things i've had, of her. but i think she's much more worried. i mean, much more concerned about what happens with our democracy and our constitution than her political life. she is behind, as far as i can tell, she is behind. i don't dismiss the odds of her winning in that. i think her appeal to principled conservatism still does well but as i said earlier, she knows she's putting her political life on the line. and doing this on behalf of the constitution of the united states of america. and our democracy. and she is willing to lose her office because that's not the most important thing she holds dear, what she holds here as our country. >> standing for the constitution, than wyoming. carlos, when you watch tonight, it's unc

it wyoming. cheney has been one of the most conservative republicans and then she voted to impeach trump and she wasn't quiet about calling him out for lying about the elections and she then graciously, willingly accepted a top role on the january 6th committee. back home in wyoming where it's a very republican state and it speaks to what yamiche is talking about, she's perceived by those republican voters as paying more attention to what's important in washington than what's important to them there. i'm not saying that. be clear, i'm not saying that's not what's important but this is what polls are saying. hageman is now ahead by 28 points, a 20-point increase. liz cheney only is drawing about 26% of the electorate there, 28% or so and that's problematic for her and most republicans that you talk to there who understand how elections work in wyoming think that the race is kind of baked. >> that is really difficult polling. and we'll see if this holds. that is quite a large gap between liz cheney

what she holds dear is our country. >> she would rather stand for the constitution than wyoming.s, when you watch tonight, it is unclear if it helped the committee or if it helped democrats but it definitively did not help donald trump. if you're in florida tonight, that's your home state, if you're ron desantis, are you watching this and seeing the lane get even clearer or wider for you to take on trump in 2024? >> tonight was -- >> as democrats, laid out a whole lot of attack ads tonight. >> tonight was definitely a great night for any rival of donald trump within the republican party. they won't criticize him publicly, they don't want to be associated with the committee because they don't like the way nancy pelosi put it together, but tonight was embarrassing for donald trump, to have his daughter on national television, calling him a liar, essentially, siding with bill barr, who said what trump was repeating was bs, i mean for ron desantis, this is a wonderful night. this weakens trump. it diminishes him. so desantis rode the trump wave, he's gotten off now, probably at the r
