kamala harris, the vice president talking about the fact that some people in rural areas can't do a xerox it. what do you see going on here in the big picture? >> you know what is striking about this latest push for a voting rights bill from democrats is the seriousness of the language that they use. like the return of jim crow or jim crow on steroids. the unseriousness of some of the proposals that they're talking about. a lot of people on capitol hill view s-1, the for the people act, the bill the president is talking about, as a messaging bill. it's filled with progressive democratic wish list items, public financing of campaigns, national mail-in voting, voter harvesting. all sorts of things that are not going to happen because they don't even have the support of all democrats in the u.s. senate. remember, there's just 50 of them. of course, they haven't gotten rid of the filibuster. so this is really a messaging operation essentially. the president went to philadelphia, spoke at the national constitution center to give it the gloss of a heavy constitutional issue, but it's not really
