you take a look at black and brown communities and you end up with strict no tolerance policies on xyz. why don't we learn from those communities that say you have the support professionals, the counselors, the training for teachers? you have the knowledge that people that are in charge of discipline, that they know that there's a better way than simply saying you are suspended. i do want to take some exceptions with some of the reaction that i've had with what the policy you just mentioned where they will say now we have to accept, we have disruptions or violence in a school. we are not allowed to discipline students. wrong. that is wrong. what we have to do is discipline students in that positive way that restores justice, that has the students understand they did something wrong. face a reasonable consequence and the entire goal is to bring the community back together again. so when someone says if we had that law we can't discipline students. that is not correct. what we need are the correct ways to discipline students that actually strengthens the community. >> what needs to be do
