window in the seconds after the shooting but now investigators say that a second officer jeronimo yanez fired the deadly shot through the driver's side window. demonstrators stormed the streets of oakland last night to peacefully protest. this was the scene overhead. protestors shut down 880 in both directions 500 people were out there last night. you can see the backup on the freeway. kpix 5 reporter anne makovec is live in the newsroom with the very latest. >> reporter: the good news, 880 has been reopened. that happened just after 1:00 this morning. over the past couple of years, the chp tried to block protestors from getting on to the freeways because it's obviously disruptive. but that didn't happen last night. it started at 7 p.m. growing to 2,000 people. they marched to frank ogawa plaza and gathered outside police headquarters. it was peaceful until they got to the broadway on-ramp and some protestors lighting fires and climbing on big rigs. they said they were desperate. >> as a mother who lost their sons, the children who lost their fathers, i have dreams and nightmares actual
