joining me is nbc's john yang.rching in this relatively small area how close do you think they are at this point? >> reporter: well they're telling us they feel they're getting closer. as you see, it's a relatively small area south of the prison. it's been a week but instead of expanding in larger and larger circles, the focus remains here. they say they have no evidence that they've left the area even though there have been no confirmed sightings of these two guys here or anywhere else for that matter. meanwhile, joyce mitchell the prison worker is now behind bars. she's accused of smuggling in hack saw blades chisels, a punch and a screw driver drill bit that helped these guys escape. according to the charging document, she brought these in a full five weeks before the escape took place. she's accused of bringing in this contraband and aiding this escape. she could face up to eight years in prison. dara? >> john thank you so much for those details. we'll be following these developments all day long. that wraps up
