thank you, supervisor yee. it's an important question, and i think it goes back to at the end of the day, how are we policing? how we see ourselves at the department, and that is he everything in my opinion. are we warriors or guardians, and the role of the police in my opinion is to be guardians of the public, including forward gans guardians of the public trust. so that should be the model that guides everything the department does, and it certainly would guide me if i were lucky enough to be appointed to the commission, so that includes more community involvement, more community engagement. we talk about community policing, and there are liaisons that are very good about engaging with the community. but as i'm sure you all know from the folks in your districts, that should go all the way top down, all the way throughout the organization. so we need beat officers who know the citizens in the districts they serve in a way that's personal, in a way that's meaningful, in a way that means you don't just interact
