lots of people were yelling the sky was falling by then. i doubt any of them knew how badly but there were plenty of people issuing warnings. by then of course, the housing -- is actually starting to go down house prices are falling by the way that is why a lot of the mortgages, would go bad and they could not refinance the securities would go into default you do not have to be a genius in 2008 to see things were going bad and would continue. of ibm not sure if you realized quite how bad and as i emphasized in the book if not for the fateful decision that sent even brothers to bankruptcy court if it ever would have been as bad as it was. but once the bubble was up there there would be big losses but i don't think it would have been as bad for that decision. of a tougher question is to call this correctly in 2005 there the answer is maybe including my colleague at princeton who were yelling already in 2005 it was in trouble but it wasn't a huge number of people and those that were yelling were called party coopers the masters of the universe
