this is the 90th anniversary of our richmond district ymca. we have a special proclamation we have provided today. the tremendous staff at the ymca, when i go into the 18th avenue, there is a tiny little parking lot back there, but it is a warm place that allows me to de-stress after difficult board meetings, but also a place to hide out and work the weight room. there is tight she, -- tai chi, pilates, yoga, ballet, and programs from the middle schools as well. 90 years is a tremendous accomplishment. born in 1022 -- 1922 after the influx of families after the earthquake that move out west -- it creates tremendous opportunities for our families in the richmond district. i think the first location was near where the richmond branch library is, close to geary, where the antique -- where the at&t building is. i hope we can expand it to a much better space in the future. there are currently over 4000 members like myself of the richmond district ymca. the programs include youth development and how the living. i really support the healthy families

it is at the richmond ymca. i was honored to meet michele obama at golden gate park a couple of days ago, when she can to talk about women's leadership and a lot of the grid or she has done to combat obesity, and to support major health care efforts throughout this country. i really applaud michelle obama and her staff, but also the academy of sciences for a great event. the rest, i will submit. president chiu: i thought supervisor mar was healthy because he was not eating happy meals. my items involve muni. the first is to speed up muni, which travels at an average of 8 mph. this would amend the transportation code to finally allow riders to legally board the rear doors, as long as they have proof of payment. ed reiskin and his leadership are committed to implementing all-or boarding this year. it sounds simple, but has been a long time coming. the headline from 2008 said muni was set to test rear door bordon, but that never happened. the mta is looking more aggressively at improving travel times. groups like t

the ymca is affordable. they have lots of camps, actually. i looked at the golden gate way website to find out how much it costs these days. they talk about how it is affordable housing. the studios are going around $2,300 a month. i thought it was quite shocking because i thought this is going to be part of this system. anything is affordable if you have lived there for a long time. it is not very affordable. at this point, is a bit disingenuous. going through anything else here, i think that this is covered by the other commissioners. there are many people upset about the potential change on this block and on this lot and i really cannot see it. i have read through a lot of the materials that have been delivered to my home. i actually think this is a good project and i know it is sometimes hard for people to believe that reasonable opinions -- that reasonable people can have different opinions. if you don't belong in that club, you don't go to that area and that lot is nice. the offenses are around it are attractive. we know that housing is

i went to work for the ymca of san francisco for a number of years. i manage the urban services. we provided social services. today, i serve as the executive director of the youth guidance committee. we serve as the intermediary for the juvenile justice system in placing young people in work force. we have four pretty stable staple programs. we have a school, the early morning studies academy. we provide services to young people in detention and in communities. we serve 150 young people engaged in the juvenile justice system, a foster care system, and have been marginalized from the education system. we graduate 80% of all of our constituents. 100% of our young people are enrolled in a community college upon graduation. the new directions employment program serves about 200 young people a year. we place young people in the advanced training, subsidized employment, a private-sector employment. a candidate for the administration of dpws. we play 65% of our young people. all of those are engaged in the juvenile justice system. we also have a scholarship program with emphasis on stat
