(announcer) change your life at golo.com. that's golo.com. elizabeth: look who's here on the news coming in from the house government weaponization subcommittee, congresswoman kat cammack. taxpayers want to know what are their tax dollars being used for? the news is republicans on house judiciary ramping up a probe that they've got proof that multiple fbi field offices in l.a. and portland joining the richmond office in manning to target traditionalist -- planning to target traditionalist catholics as, quote, violent extriceppists and potential domestic terrorists. shouldn't they be focusing on real terrorists, dozens of them trying to cross the border? >> oh, my goodness, liz, there's so much to cover here. great to be with you, first and foremost. but, yes, we have director wray lying to congress saying that there had only been one directive and one field office, that it was rogue, that it was a one-off situation. but yet the timeline and all the evidence through the transcribed interviews that we have conducted point to the fact that this was a direct ty from the washington -- directive from the washington office that was carried out through multiple field offices. this is a fundamental attack on americans as we know it. the free odom of religion -- freedom of religion is a fundamental right of our constitutional republic. and when you have catholicsing with -- catholics being targeted by the fbi as potential extremists which, by the way, it was not the pro-lifers that were fire bombing pregnancy crisis centers or going after the churches, it was those on the pro-abortion side after the roe v. wade ruling that were targeting those individuals and those organizations. elizabeth: they were -- you're saying they were targeting, you're saying the pro-abortion crowd was targeting the pro-life crowd with fire bombings, is that what you're saying? >> yeah, absolutely. i mean, we saw that -- elizabeth: there were no, you're saying there were no attacks from pro-life groups, pro-catholic groups on abortion clinics. is that what you're saying? [laughter] >> i don't ever recall a time where that has happened. but i know that we saw the fbi sending in s.w.a.t. teams to arrest 82-year-old grandmothers who were praying outside of planned parenthoods. that seems a bit excessive to me especially considering that my husband is a s.w.a.t. team member who he himself said that is ridiculous, that is absurd, and these types of tactics are completely being used -- abused. that is weaponization of government in a nutshell. elizabeth: again, u.s. taxpayers are stick ask -- sick and tired of being overtaxed. they're done with it. and d.c. the's wondering, they're wondering what's going on, what are you spending the money on, and the debate is whether fbi director christopher wray even knew what was going on, because you're going to hear him say this. watch. >> what's the difference between a traditional catholic and a radical traditional catholic? >> i'm not an expert on the catholic orders. >> well, your fbi wrote a memo talking about radical traditional catholickingss. i just want to know if you can define it for us. >> you're referring to the rush monday product which was a single product by a single field office which, as soon as i found out about it, i was aghast and ordered it withdrawn and removed from fbi systems. elizabeth: but then the fbi was redacting documents, so, i mean, this white house said it was going to be the most transparent. we understand that christopher wray preceded this white house, but again and again, you know, the voters out doctor are saying, what are you doing with our money? >> yeah. no, liz, you're 100% right. when you talk to any american on the street i don't care if they're republican, democrat, independent, they are hurting. i spoke with teachers today who were saying that they had on the first day of school kids coming to class with no school supplies because their parents can't afford it. we have an open border crisis that is flooding our communities with drugs and people who are putting a strain on the social services. if businesses can can't fire -- find help if they try, and yet we have all these handouts, and under biden's watch $11 # trillion in two and a half years has gone out the the door. elizabeth: let's stay on this for a second. you brought up the border. we've got the massachusetts governor, we've got the new york city i mayor saying, please, you've got to help us with the migrants flooding into our cities. the projection is new york city's going to spend $12 billion, that's triple what the initial estimate was, over the next three years dealing with the migrant crisis. so again and again voters out there are saying you voted these guys in. you voted them in, they touted and were saying we're sanctuary cities and states, and now they're saying, wait a second, we can't handle the flood. and you know who pays for it? we don't have the evidence, the links right -- >> that's exactly right, these are allegations, yes. elizabeth: but we're on the story, and we want to stay on this story. she's talking about unethical stuff. let's go to this, democrat socialist senator bernie sanders, he keeps telling everybody, you know, pay your fair share is. he reportedly siphoned off $200,000 from his campaign cash and sent it to a nonprofit run by his wife and stepson? what do you think of this? >> well, for a guy who claims to be against corruption and tax cheats and greed, he certainly doesn't seem to have any issues with skirting the laws on this front. the idea of using campaign funds to a pass-through to pay your family members, that seems to be a federal elections commission law violation because you can give donations to charities, but it cannot benefit the candidate. and when you are paying the salaries of your family member, you're benefiting the candidate. elizabeth: so where's the federal election commission on this? ford, we're digging into documents and reports, this isn't the first time senator sanders, it happened in 2020, his presidential campaign reportedly sent $350,000 to that same nonprofit. that happened in, like, april 2021. >> that's exactly right. this is not the first time this has happened and, obviously, the fec is being controlled right now by biden people. but i think what's kind of comical here is that bernie sanders hit hillary clinton over the head for doing the same thing, and now he's doing what hillary rodham clinton was going on -- doing on a smaller scale. it appears the sanders institute, it doesn't do anything. it doesn't give away a great deal of money. what it seems to be doing is enriching bernie sanders' family members. elizabeth: yeah. it gives a lot of money many salaries. something like the nonprofit burned through nearly 40% of its donations on salaries and what it was taking in, i mean, senator sanders' stepson reportedly made nearly $260,000. that was about 40% of the money it raised in that particular year. >> and based on what we know, liz, not only is what senator sand sanders doing an fec violation, this might also be an irs violation in terms of how the sanders institute is a 501(c)(3) and functioning. but once again you know the irs only targets conservatives. it never actually keeps liberals honest. and we've seen this over and over, it's not just hillary clinton it's not just bernie sanders. we could also be potentially looking at the biden institute. what do you think the chances are thish s rs is going to do what's good for the goose and the gander? elizabeth: we haven't talked about this in a while, ford, but, you know, when there's the economic theories that are out there about capitalism versus socialism, the democrats often think there are more, you know, saints in socialism than in the catholic church. and you look at socialist systems, they're kleptocrats. they go in and do insider-ism to benefit themselves. the sanders family, you know, he's faced charges of nepotism the in the past. we remember atlantic magazine reported when sanders was mayor of burlington, vermont, he put his wife on the burlington city payroll and sent campaign cash to her company back then. >> well, bernie sanders has had a lot of folks on the left fooled for a very long time, particularly with his brand of socialism. you do not get three homes and a foundation that you're paying your family through. it is now time to be honest, liz, for bernie sanders to pay his fair share. elizabeth: we'll see if he does. [laughter] >> well, actually, liz are, it's a little more complicated than that. on average, white house workers who are female are making less than, on average, men. but really what we learnedded from this is that all the sloganeering and sound bite treatment of complex issues like disparity in pay between men and women really don't serve the public very well, and that's unfortunately what this administration is all about. there is no gender disparity that can be easily sum ised up by discrimination -- summed up by discrimination against women. it's a very complicated issue where women go in and out of the work force because they're also having children -- elizabeth: yeah.
