of a harrowing helicopter rescue in yosemite last week. at about 7 in the morning on january 16th... a chp chopper was dispatched to the national park for a rescue. two hikers from england.... both men in their mid 20s... had become lost in the snow hiking around north dome the day before. they were found wedged in a crevasee on the east side of north dome, according to chp. they had lost sight of the trail in the snow, and now were faced with a 2-thousand foot drop with no way to proceed. that's when they called 9-11. rescuers were able to lift them out of the crevase above the cliff they had slept on overnight, and get them to safety one at a time. they were treated by paramedics after being transported down the mountain. let's get a check of the weather around the bay area on this dr. king holiday.... time now for the 4zone forecast... with chief meteorologist lawrence karnow. lawrence karnow: it was a sunny and beautiful day with cool temperatures. highs were in the 50s to low 60s. tonight will be mostly clear and cold and breezy. lows
