look how bad it was in yosemite on saturday. a little patch of blue sky, but everything else is smoke. to put a little perspective on this, the fire burning in yosemite, the pika fire now at 800 acres, it's big enough to visualize from the satellites. here we are in the bay area, yosemite on the other side of the state, placing that heat signature where the fire is, right on the north rim of yosemite valley. there's el capitan, the valley, half dome in the distance and here's what 800 acres looks like when you plot it using satellite data to show you where it is and also how big it is. this is a big problem for air quality in yosemite valley because every night the smoke coming off this sinks into the valley and there is a fascinating pattern. it's also really unpleasant for what it's doing to air quality in the valley. we know the air quality scale. green is good. purple is hazardous. here comes the times of the day down here. most of the afternoon the air quality is okay in yosemite valley, moderate to good, but overnight the
