you're looking towards yosemite valley. as the sun begins to set out there isn't that gorgeous? almost looks like a painting outside right now. and that's why we love it here out there. lake tahoe, you're looking at some dry conditions right now. a couple high clouds moving up above the temperatures. not all that bad. it's a little chilly in spots. 40 degrees. south lake tahoe. 36 in climb and 37 degrees right truckee, if you plan to head up there, here's a crop for ski report heavily. you've got 79 inches on the summit, had another inch of snow last night and they've got 114 trails all wide open there for you to enjoy the palisades 136 inches at the summit. they've got plenty of lips going. there are 192 trails out there as well. and how our friends at sugar bowl 139 inches and 73 trails for you to get out there and enjoy. of course, all that fresh snow up there. and you know what? the roadways are going to cooperate to. that's been part of the trouble is winters. the storm's been rolling on through just hard to get up there. but now roadways open and clear. maybe some patchy f

warnings up across the chest area as well as the great lake further south of the mammoth lakes, yosemite valley, too. something else to watch out for. we've seen these different types of snow. we had that some tropical system move in that brought some higher level snow and also some very moisture rich content. snow. and so you're seeing these different layers between the powdery snow. you get some of that subtropical snow and all of a sudden you start to worry about the possibility of some avalanches. so not the major ski resortt, but we're watching out for the possibility. some avalanches and some of the back country will be very careful if your traveling in that direction. meantime, though, going to be rough ride getting up there starting tomorrow. lots of snow rolling in with some much colder temperatures. but this weekend looks great. dry weather should be easy ride getting up there. and of course, plenty of that fresh powdery snow to ski on. thanks, lawrence. >> today a sad day for the bay area tv broadcast in community. legendary ktvu anchor dennis richmond has died at 81 years old pionee
