thank you, sergeant youngblood. good evening, vice president carter overstone commission executive director henderson and the public going to start off this week's report with just a general overview of crime part one crime. anyway, serious crime . we are 5% below where we were this time last year. and overall, part one crime that is a difference of roughly 1900 crimes. fewer than this time last year. but the breakdown between property and violent crime still is pretty pronounced with our property crime actually down 5, which is almost 2000 crimes fewer. and our violent crime up 2, which is about 100 and about 100 crimes more than we had this time last year. specific to violent crime, our homicide are even with where they were this time last year, which is a bit of good news considering we've been above where we were this time last year. most of the year our homicide clearance rate is 75. actually, it's a little higher than that because we just made an arrest today of a homicide that occurred on august 29th in the r

good afternoon, sergeant youngblood. present vice president and acting president carter overstone commission and public. i'll be brief with my report tonight. just starting off with an overview of the crime trends. the overall the we're down 3% in part one crimes and the split on that is 4% reduction in property crime. 3% increase in violent crime in terms of the homicide, the homicides year to date, we have a total of 40. we had two over the weekend. both shootings and no suspects in custody on those particular shootings. however, we are still doing well with our clearance rate. so our homicide investigators are working very hard. we're in excess of 70% on the clearance rates with some cases that are close, hopefully to being cleared. in terms of the trends that we're seeing, street robberies is a trend that we're very concerned about. we're up a little bit over just under 300 robberies year to date , which is a 16% increase. and many of those robberies are armed robberies. we have had made some significant arrests with

sergeant youngblood. good evening. vice president carter overstone commissioners acting executive director. sarah so i'm sorry. hawkins i know i'm reading. henderson i'm sorry. sarah executive director. hawkins today's chief report. i will start with just overall crime trends and keep it, keep it very brief. overall our violent crime, we are up 3% in that category. homicides we're up by 242 homicides compared to 40 this time last year. the good news is our total gun violence is down by 3. that's about a difference of five crimes from this to five shootings from this time last year 162 compared to 167 property crimes is down overall 6. and with that, there's a 7% reduction in in in car break-ins, which is quite significant. so we still have a lot of work to do in that regard. but definitely it decrease is better than an increase year to date burglaries are also down year to date in terms of our homicides, our clearance rate is 75. and in terms of our gun seizures, to help address the firearms related crimes, we are at 8
