youngkin took them off after signing an executive order in early august.tice department sued saying he violated federal law and many of those taken off the rolls were indeed u.s. citizens but skipped over a box on a driver's license form at the dmv by mistake or became citizens after filling out the form. the court was not persuaded. he said virginians can cast their ballots on election day knowing that virginia's elections are fair, secure, and free from politically motivated interference. meanwhile the justice department put out a statement saying it disagrees with the supreme court decision. let's take a look at this map. these are the states where the legal challenge currently exists. many of them are battleground states. north carolina, a federal appeals court ruled the state republican party effort to question some 225,000 ballots must stay in federal court and not move to state court, which is a temper he would not for democrats in north carolina. in pennsylvania the supreme court is expected to rule at any time at that ballots that could affect tho

youngkin says, fine. these aren't systemic. what happens is somebody comes in to renew their driver's license, they're on the dmv rolls, it says you're a non-citizen or you cannot prove your citizenship. you're off. the voter rolls. pretty logical, not systemic, individualized. and this federal judge says no, that's systemic. now, i would argue that youngkin is right. we'll see how this goes when it comes to appeals. that's pretty individualized. you have self-identified as a non-citizen. why is there an argument for you to be voting? the bigger issue, jesse, is thematic, not this microscope. it's not legal. why would they want to be on the record as encouraging, legally or not, non-citizens, to vote right before an election after the last election went haywire afterwards because of these allegations, and not just in virginia. everywhere you look, georgia, every other state, the biden harris administration. and of course, when i say the doj, trump is exactly right to look directly to the biden-harris administration, who control

it is a big victory for republican governor glenn youngkin, he joins us now.your reaction to this supreme court decision. >> well, bret, it's a big win for common sense and for the constitution. i'm, of course, very pleased with the supreme court's ruling. and it affirms the fact that that the process we're going through and that isn't a purge, this is a process that we have been using someone walks into a dmv. they identify themselves as a non-citizen. they have ended up on our voting rolls either by happenstance or by purpose. we go through a very clear process. you get notice. you get 14 days to affirm you are a citizen and if you don't, you come off the voter rolls and, of course, in virginia we have the ultimate fail safe that cast a provisional ballot. everyone who is a u.s. citizen in virginia can vote and i encourage everybody, go vote. but this is a win for common sense and a win for the constitution today. >> bret: have you heard democrats talk about this, governor. and they say this is not a big deal. there are laws that prevent non-citizen from vot
