we are in yountville right now. as we were heading up here from signorello winery, that structure completely lost. the vineyards leading up looked intact. we drove up the trail and we were nearly i believe it's called pelican inn. we came across this man who lives up in the hills whose family, second generation lived up here for years. he said everything started 11:00 last night it has been crazy. he has been up since then. he lost his water, got a generator pumped the water out of the pool he and his cousins were able to save three homes back there. but he said -- we saw him he was putting out hot spots still popping up in the office that was burned and he lost farm equipment. he was not leaving. he never left all night long. we left him came up the road. and it was really quite a sight to see the fire burning along this ridge. firefighters again as i mentioned very successful one thing we noticed too silver ado trail normally very busy. it's very quiet obviously because it's closed. we have seen some fire engining

of course, right next to napa and yountville looks like it's coming down there on 80 as well between fairfield and vacaville. and that's over the past three hours. you can see it start to thicken up even more there right along the areas where the fires are burning. here's a look at the conditions in those areas. winds right now in sonoma coming from the southwest at 8. healdsburg north wind at 7. gusts up to 25 miles an hour but not what we were fearing so the wind gusts seem to have happened outside of the fire zones. right now, the particulate matter in the air for sonoma is unhealthy. oakland is seeing particulate matter in the range of 150. san francisco around 160. so of course that's why we're seeing the smoke in the sky. this is a look from our vaca cam. it certainly doesn't feel good on a lot of people's lungs. here's a look at some of the peak gusts we experienced today. mount diablo in the 50s. oakland hills in the 30s. san francisco in the 30s, as well. but again, it missed those fire zones. we didn't get that strong wind event in those locations we were fearing. back to y

napa, yountville, sonoma, rohnert park, santa rosa, communities nearby. that's where the smoke will continue to be the worst. now as we get look at the extended forecast what you see as janelle mentioned temperatures not too hot and that's great news for firefighters to get a handle on this. you can see from tuesday all the way through saturday temperatures in the 70s. and then we will see warmer low 80s by next sunday and monday. what i've also done on the 7-day forecast in the north bay. this is a north bay 7-day forecast is highlighted what the wind will be the next several days. because that of course is going to be key to the firefighters. it's very variable in terms of the wind direction over the next few days. but the good news is no majored wind event like last night and early this morning. on tuesday it ranges 5 to 10. wednesday 5 to 15, thursday 5 to 13, friday 5 to 10-mile-per-hour. here is the thing we are wachb out by saturday and sunday we could have more dry winds out of the northeast 10 to 20-mile-per-hour. that would be another fire wind.
