helena to yountville, highway 29, also from cordelia to american canyon. certainly some flooding in areas where the drains cannot keep up with the pace of the rain, a half inch to an inch an hour. walnut creek, milpitas, dixon landing road, some moderate rain. as the front pushes through, the rain is getting lighter on the peninsula and the south bay from campbell, still wet out there though and you can see offshore more showers are forming. as we look at south city and san mateo, some mist and drizzle, and then another line of showers right along the coast. so we're looking at a pretty active day today as the front moves through, the unstable atmosphere. then this low pushes overhead by the evening hours. that's why we have it as a level 3 on our storm impact scale. with the heavy downpours, urban and small stream flooding, some of those creeks coming right up outside their banks as the rain and the drain cannot keep up with some of that drainage as we go through the morning hours. accumulating rainfall from 1 to 2 inches in the valleys, 3 to 4 inches in

yesterday, 30 straight hours of heavy rainfall for santa rosa, rohnert park, glen ellen, sonoma, yountville. helena. this just in, the sonoma county mountains, rainfall total since yesterday, 15 inches of rainfall. there have been some pockets of heavier showers moving through san francisco, oakland, alameda east toward walnut creek and san ramon, but they've been few and far between and even farther south there only light showers at best. this has been an all in the north bay rain event and frankly, we'd want a wider or more even distribution of the rainfall. all the rain from the atmospheric river is going into one spot. that's going to lead to major flooding concerns as we move forward the next couple days. russian river in guerneville will likely crest late tomorrow evening at 46.1 feet. it has not been that high in more than two decades. so widespread flooding in and around the beautiful city of guerneville is expected and numerous flood warnings for the north bay, marin county, napa county, part of solano county, lake county, mendocino county, sonoma county. the weather service mantra

this ref rainfall on highway 101 from santa rosa to petaluma, mo keeping the wet weather in yountville's not just isolated storms we're seeing now. it's continuous rainfall certainly through 8:30 tonight for the north bay. notice in the south bay if you live there, keep your eye on the south bay. it's going to take a long time for this rainfall to eventually get to you. the big problem is where that rainfall stalls out, and that's going be to be in the north bay. 11:00, it's still all about the north bay, down to san francisco with that rainfall. as we hit tomorrow morning's commute, it's mainly the north bay with that heavier rainfall. still trying to get it going in the south bay. as we move through the day on tuesday, still marin, napa, sonoma counties. we begin to pick it up in san jose, but you might not actually get in on heavy downpours in the south bay until about 10:30 at night tomorrow. and still continuous rain right up there through the north bay. once we hit wednesday we'll begin to see things break up. our rainfall totals for this event, marin, napa, sonoma counties will

anselmo close to ten inches of rain, mark west creek over santa rosa over 9 inches of rain and yountvilleut 7:85 inches of rain and santa rosa measures 7.75 inches of rain. we head to moreai head a little south and we've had significant rain in the vuz mountasanta crus in ben lo j mon lonond and san . a wide range in the rain totals, spotty showers throughout the day. the good news is that there will be some breaks in this rain for the north bay, but you still have to watch out for showers passing by. additional rainfall totals at this point look to be from a tenth to quarter of an inch, not much more, but we will continue to watch the river levels rising and cresting this evening. the russian river in guerneville expected to be at about 46.1 feet, that is well over flood stage. we're expecting most of downtown guerneville to flood with those evacuations in place. going throughout today, scatt scattered rain, highs in the low 60s for inland areas. cooling down tonight and tomorrow. the rain moves out very early in the morning so we'll just say partly cloudy skies throughout the day, upper

back to rainfall totals, impressive numbers here especially in the north bay with yountville measuring nearly nine inches of rain. a live look in san jose, where we're just starting to add up on the rainfall totals. we've only gotten 0.1 of an inch of rain and in the santa cruz mountains 3.5 inches of rain. rain chances stay in the forecast for today, but do become a lot more scattered, light, about another 0.1 to 0.25 of an inch of rain. we'll catch a break tomorrow as well as friday and another weak are system moves in on saturday. we could be tracking another atmospheric river on tuesday of next week so i'll keep you up to date on that. mike, you've had a lot of spinouts and traffic alerts. what is going on now? >> telling folks be careful. here is part of the 0.1 of an inch for san jose on our lens. it's a little blurry. make sure you have washer fluid and the wipers are in good order. as the sun comes up, reminder if the wipers are on steady and happen to be where you are, keep the headlights on as well. that is the law. we are looking at northbound routes starting to build, slowl
