many students here in the district along with this casual student get together, the summer youth leadership academy has been hosting other summer event. they are upset that less than 40% of east side graduates meet the requirement for a four year college. they want the standards used by the csu and usc system to be the requirements for the school system. >> my parents don't know what i need to be to be able to go to college. and i recently found out my sophomore year that i'm not on the way to go to college. which it was a really big thing to me. >> in my school there's only a few counselors and there are students in the thousands and like, we have less than i believe five counselors this year. you can't expect five counselors to inform every student in our school. >> i found out and i'm like, people don't know this. why don't people tell us these things. so i'm glad i know. i took some of my classes, i got 10 credits already. >> why is this happening in this community more than in other places? >> i think it's important in our district, we need a lot of resources out of our schools are under funde
