we have the visual confirmation of a tornado on 99 just north of yuba city. backing out i want to show you the visual confirmation. but the doppler radar when they put it in, they're real good at picking up if you -- the wind sheer. see the comma, right when you hit that you can see the tornado warning is based on that. that is an indication you have rotation in the storm and could easily have a tornado. now look you can see it is starting to fall apart. in the reports now it is that the system last seen moves into the foothills here, beginning to fall apart. are there a lot of poplated areas here? no, this is lightly poplated. north of 99, getting out of here towards las plumas up here, when they hit the foothills they slow down. looks like this is breaking apart. that is the second tornado warning we have had this afternoon. severe weather moving through the central valley. we have more weather and rain that we have today, heading our way as we move in the next couple of days. i'll see you back here. >>> speaking of the rain, it means more than just dreary

had weather to our east, this video, from kevin cotter, this tornado touched down to the north of yuba citybout city and gridly. no reported damage but, hey this is very unusual and because of all the other tornadic activity we have had much more severe across the nation, not going to hear a lot about this on national news, whereas normally, this would be big weather news. very unusual. we don't have that risk today but we are going to have the risk for thunderstorms as we head into the weekend and another system moves on shore. a few showers, mostly the northnorth by -- north bay. santa rosa wet right now. overall, they are clearing, 9 a.m., 10 a.m., a mostly dry bay area. here is what we are looking at the next 48 hours. the system of low pressure sets up right offshore. some of the forecast models do bring it inland enough for us to just get dumped on, we head through the next few days, but i think it is going to kind of skirt the coast and bring in the light bands of rain, mostly toward the coast we head through probably saturday and friday. this is what we are expecting in terms of acc

that tornado reported in yuba city, we have video of that. it's remarkable. a very large, rotating thunderstorm. if we're able to pull up that video, what you'll find is this super cell thunderstorm that dropped down the wall cloud and then the funnel cloud as well. we don't have the video right now. but you can go to nbcbayarea.com and we have posted some links. we do have the latest on the conditions up here. right now, only 33 degrees. snow level at 5,000 feet. they picked up about four inches today. and current numbers already cold here. 52 in santa rose a. 51 in napa. we will be dropping into the 40s tonight, folks. heading into tomorrow, gradual sun. it will stay on the cool side for thursday. but it's all about the weekend at this point with our next storm system. more rain, cold air, and more sierra snow. that storm is still about 1,000 miles out. we'll have to wait on it to get here. tomorrow will be a transitional day. temperatures staying in the 60s. then by friday, look for that rain to develop in the forecast. so let's get you into thursday. star
