yvonne: bond markets have not really moved. we're focusing on the lam almost a presser at the moment. the hang seng is heading lower now down about 1%. the shanghai bouncing back a bit after the brutal selloff that we saw yesterday. coming through from that presser, this is what carrie lam is saying. the escalation of a violent scene during the weekend. she has mentioned that she is continuing the existing work that has been conducted by police complaints council. they mentioned a couple of dozen to 100 or so that came through as of her last week when she also spoke with reporters then. one interesting line she says she doesn't agree with an independent inquiry, one of the key demands from the protesters. rishaad: looking for a dialogue. she doesn't believe in having an independent inquiry, one of the demands the protesters were making. david: the hang seng index is starting to move toward session lows. unclear whether or not that is correlated to what she is saying and what the investors want her to say. hat is another convers

yvonne: yes.fact, we have seen frustration and confusion from many travelers coming in and out of hong kong. we saw at one point today when protesters were standing in unblocking the departure gates, protesters were blocking travelers from getting through. there were tourists as well trying to climb over these protesters to make it to their flight. it is getting a bit heated here, as well, but at this point we are not seeing a whole lot of travelers. i think most of them have been told to leave the terminal. the checkout services were closed as of 4:30 this afternoon. at this point, it is mostly protesters here. we still see some people coming in with luggage, but they have been told to contact their respective airlines. take a look at that right now. you can see they've used trolleys to try to block these entrances into the departure hall here. they were quick to move. that's why we saw so much commotion at the get go here. we seen them do this in the past. they've used barricades and things to t

yvonne: at this moment, we have seen the crowd die done quite a bit. it result out in the last couple of hours. police decided to exit the departure hall here. we have not seen a whole lot of police presence. i don't think they are even here anymore. there were some tense moments as we were on with you, at one point, when ride police stormed in. this is all because of what we saw four hours, a standoff between protesters and him and amanda they claimed was a mainland police officer, who they tied down, drag him into the departure hall, and held him as amulets and firefighters tried to escort him out, take them out of the area. finally, police came in. there were some tense moments for protesters blocking those entrances. seems like those areas have been cleared out at the moment. i am looking at the screens, and flights are still leaving hong kong at this hour, although it has been just a handful of flights. some have been rescheduled for tomorrow morning. we do still see some cancellations. slowly turning back to normal but certainly this unrest betwe

yvonne: let's stick to bonds. we have seen ozzy bond yields climbed -- aussie bond yields climb in response to the fed. what do you think about this ahead of the rba meeting next week? wes: aussie bond yields are 1.2%. to 1%.s talk of it going unlike the fed, which does not want to go on a series of rate cuts, it looks like the rba is in the middle of a series of rate cuts. it looks like there is more to go. the lesson is german bund's argument -- are -44 basis points. bonds, theyatter to can slice through them. 1% ozzy bond yields are not -- aussie bond yields are not too far-fetched. david: we are more clear in the cutting cycle, at least with the rba. morgan us now onset is stanley's asia economist. as an economist, what is a midcycle cut? what does that mean? >> from a growth extension perspective, the u.s. economy has seen its cycle. from our perspective, that seems too optimistic an assessment. even for morgan stanley, we believe by all accounts the u.s. economy is in a slowdown phase. what it means going fo

yvonne: that is right.protesters after the injunction was issued at 2:00 afternoon local time. security has been tight coming into the airport. passengers flying out of hong kong are only allowed in. they are checking passports, tickets, and boarding passes. protesters have been barred from coming in. anyone may be held in contempt of court. the airport express also doing some crowd control, decreasing the frequency of the trains from the city to the airport to 25 minutes. they are telling passengers to come three hours before their flights. francine: some of the official offices were saying the airport violence was almost as terrorism. how does that get interpreted by the protesters? does it give insight into what china could do next? yvonne: we were speaking to some of these protesters about exactly how they felt about last night's events, wasn't going too far in these violent -- was it going too far in these violent crashes? people protesting peacefully say it is a different situation and are looking at
