i'm zach fuentes. happening now.rth bay so caltrans crews can make repairs. it's the second to last weekend of construction there. the closure is on the eastbound lanes from sears point to vallejo. it's the same stretch that shut down for several weekends last month for repaving. caltrans would have started the eastbound work last weekend, but rain forced them to postpone, so the road is set to reopen by 5 a.m. monday. and bart is not going to be running trains this weekend between union city and warm springs south. fremont station crews are going to be replacing aging equipment and cutting down vegetation. bus service is going to be available between the stations and the green line between san jose and daly city will also shut down both today and tomorrow, so be sure to check the bart website for updated schedules and ride alternatives. all right, let's get a check of the weather now with meteorologist lisa argen. >> hey zach, good morning to you. hi everyone. we see all that sunshine behind you, but still a dense f

abc seven news reporter zach fuentes has been following one of the nearby businesses since this closureand is here with their reaction tonight. zach their reaction is that they are thrilled. >> imagine since march 30th, only twice a day convoy, primarily for residents, have been bringing people in and out of big sur. so now, starting tomorrow at 6:30 a.m, the portion of highway one impacted by the collapse is finally reopening. and here's some video from a few weeks ago when the road was first closed. when it reopens tomorrow, it's going to be one way traffic with a temporary signal. governor newsom's office announced that news this week, saying that the reopening is eight days ahead of the initial scheduled reopening for memorial day. in the week since the road slip out. big sur businesses say the economic hit has been substantial. they tell me that the timing of this reopening one weekend before memorial day weekend couldn't have been better. >> but the biggest benefit to us is it gives us the time as well as our hospitality neighbors, to get on social media, call and email our guests

i'm zach fuentes in the north bay, a massive bird fighting bus that started as a different case.e facility. they searched the suspect's home last month on stony point road. this is what they found. 1000 birds that police say were raised for fighting, plus knives and several other malnourished animals. investigators also found the stolen property tied to that initial burglary that they were investigating. police arrested a man on suspicion of 36 counts of possession of razors used for bird fighting. governor newsom's revised budget calls for some belt tightening across the state, but no new taxes. newsom says the deficit grew by $7 billion above his $38 billion projection in january. but due to $17 billion in cuts and other actions, he and lawmakers have already made, the deficit stands at $27.6 billion the governor says despite the adjustments in his proposal, he believes the state's values are, quote, foundationally intact. let's get a check of the weather now with lisa argen. >> all right. good morning to you. we have sunshine across the bay area. still a dense fog advisory alo
