zachary kiesch live to explain everything that could happen. >> reporter: good morning. you know, when you've missed ten days of school i guess it's never too early to consider what will happen if you miss another one. fairfax county public school board will be here at jackson middle school today to discuss that scenario and how it kind pact the calendar going into next year. if they miss one more day of school whether it's because of weather or an emergency, it could move the start date a little earlier. again, this is something that is not necessarily on the table right now but if they his another day, it could be. in which case fairfax county could start the school year before labor day. it would allow them to begin on monday august 31 and end on thursday june 16. thousand right now fairfax county doesn't qualify for the waiver they would have to miss 11 full school days do this. right now they're at the 10. and supposed to be a beautiful day today. probably would be the day that they miss another day but something they're considering. again, the school board would ha

news4's zachary kiesch has been just over the d.c. line in chillham all day talking with people in that area. how is it looking, zach? >> reporter: starting to look better here. we've seen a steady snowfall all day long and it's starting to let up. typically rush hour on chillum road, you see people at the bus stop commuters on their way home. not seeing that today. if you look at some of this video we shot today, you know, in this business you said you're only as good as your shot. we have some good photojournalists here contributing to this. take a peek at this some plows, some people doing it by handle. of course schools are closed in this area today. you see some cars spinning out there. eve an truck. that really goes to show what the conditions are out here. i happened to talk to a gentleman that pulled up in his bmw sports car. obviously not an ideal vehicle far day like today. >> the roads not that bad right now but they're getting bad because it's a wet snow. it turns into ice after a while. snoob. >> reporter: makes good snow
