this is zahrah al-ahras, a palestinian journalist in canada. she's talking about the termination of her contract 10 days after the start of the war. she was fired because of her support for palestine in social media. then she wrote on linkedin that she knows more colleagues who feel frustrated by, i was told to take down every posting comment with #freepalestine, gaza jonas. side and gaza under attack saying that my posts make me look unbalanced. i was told the problem is with me expressing my beliefs, my opposition for israel's genocide of my people. during that phone call, i repeatedly asked which post exactly are the problem, why are they the problem and so on. i was told that all over everything i have been posting gave the perception of bias that i as a journalist i'm not able to uh... communicate in a balanced way about the situation according to their standards, but zahrah wasn't the only journalist who was punished for sharing her thoughts on social media. two days before zahra's termination, the bbc announced it had launched an urgent
