zain verjee is following developments for us. what's going on today?olutely critical phase of the hearing. raffaele sollecito and amanda knox are trying to overturn the murder sentence for the murder of meredith kercher. they are saying the police messed up and totally mishandled the dna evidence. a bra clasp. raffaele sollecito's dna was found on the bra clasp. what happened in the early stages, the defense is alleging, is that the police came in and used dirty gloves and passed it on to other dirty gloves and contaminated the bra, in essence. they also say that it took six weeks for them to even find it. it could be contaminated and, therefore, not permissable as evidence. the second thing is the knife that is alleged to have killed meredith kercher. amanda knox's dna has been found on the handle of that knife and blood was found on the blade of that knife. what the defense is arguing is that the blood was so teeny tiny, it was so small that there weren't even enough cells to do a proper dna test to definitively identify it as the victim's. amanda kn

zain verjee was at the game. joins me now from frankfurt, germany. a real nail biter until the end. like to be in the stadium? >> reporter: it was absolutely electric. it was a cliffhanger. i don't have any nails left because i was biting them all off. it was absolutely amazing. best game i've ever watched live like that, don. the u.s. came out of the gate really aggressive. kept pounding the goal as hard as they could but they hit the posts about three times and they just weren't able to get in until the 68th minute. japan came back and scored and equalizer. then the u.s. got another goal and an amazing header in by abbey wambach. in the last few minutes of extra time japan managed to put another one away making it 2-2 and japan won in penalty shootouts. they didn't start off that strongly in the beginning. they seemed nervous, the passing wasn't that great. the u.s. did a great job in keeping possession of the ball. after the japanese scored the first goal they seemed to unlock something and then the game was really theirs. it was a match of come backs. could it have gone either w

zain verjee is joining us with more on this. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, kyra. this is the largest refugee camp in the world and it's right near the kenyan border with somalia. like 500,000 people now in that refugee camp and thousands of somalis are pouring across the border to he escape the scorching heat. they have no food, no water, no shelter in somalia. so they are coming to kenya. aide agencies are saying it's really difficult to give them everything they need and it's also even tougher to get the food to somalia to help them out simply because of the instability and the fighting that has racked that country. it's such a difficult situation for people, kyra, because they are walking across the border. they can't afford the 40 dollar drive it takes to get from somalia to the refugee camp. it's put a lot of pressure on the kenyan government who aid agencies are akoosing of food-gragg dragging a little bit and kenyan government is saying they need to deal with the instability and security around the area first. but when you look at these images, it's a reall
