now moderna chief medical officer tal zaks.re you had quite the day. 94.5% is an exceptional response in vaccine efficacy. explain what is special about your vaccine that allows for this? >> well, i think what's unique about our vaccine is that we've shown all along that this vaccine can use high levels of neutralizing antibodies. this is what the body needs to have in order to protect itself, to fight the vaccine. we have been able to show it in the early trials consistently across participants, including those that are older adults, so we were always optimistic that this would translate into a high efficacy and indeed i believe this trial demonstrated that, what it means in simple terms, if you take a look at our data, 95 people unfortunately came down with covid-19, but of the 95, 90 were on the placibo group, only five on the group that got the vaccine. and it is important to note, we have been transparent with data, including enrollment of the sub populations, older adults, and the effect is consistent across the sub group
