even though peter or zack, zeke emanuel, and the president said no, i want nancy ann deparl in charge. don't you think she should come in front of this committee, mr. park? >> respectively, i can't really speak to that, sir. >> we're probably going to have to do the same thing for her as we did for you. we'll have to subpoena her. last week the chairman and i sent a letter to the white house asking that simple question. the person hand picked by the president to run this operation, would she come before this committee to talk about the disaster this rollout has been. and the response we got back yesterday from the white house, who says, thank you for inviting us, but we're not coming. so it looks like we'll have to do the same thing, mr. chairman, as we did with mr. park. according to the white house logs, mr. chao, you said you had been there between 10 and 29 times to these meetings. mr. park, according to the white house log, you've been to nine of these where jean ran the meeting, is that correct, mr. park? nine times where miss deparl ran these weekly meetings? >> i can't verify

we've seen zeke emanuel saying this is a long game on "morning joe," this is a marathon for the social contract of our country. some see it at this moment of a sprint and even the democrats are failing. with these new numbers out about millions losing their insurance, how do you get better control of the narrative that obama care isn't the titanic? >> well, i think that the rollout has certainly been fouled up, without question. why we'll find out in the fullness of time. but that won't matter in the long run. what will matter is do people in the end get good insurance that's cheaper than what they have? and i think most people will. remember that all these things we're seeing now, all the hype about millions of people facing cancellation of insurance, these policies, many of which have 10 or $25,000 deductibles, many of which don't cover drugs and other things, are being cancelled because they don't meet the basic requirements. but most of these people, probably 9/10 of them will be able to get much better policies more cheaply on the exchanges. so that they'll have better policies mo
