. >> and i'm zoraida sambolin. it is monday, 6:00 a.m.us crash on a narrow mountain highway in california leaves eight people dead and dozens more injured. authorities believe the bus first rear ended a sedan, crashed with a pickup truck pulling a trailer and pulled over. on a treacherous mountain highway 80 miles east of los angeles. the road is so narrow, rescue workers had a difficult time reaching the victims. we want to bring in cnn's paul berkanon. paul, we understand that crews are still trying to recover bodies. >> we walked up the road half mile to the crash site it is shocking, grisly and heartbreaking. right now, california highway patrol is huddling with fish officials and others and trying to get to the body count. they know so far eight people have been killed in the accident. but they say that number is sure to change, meaning they expect far many more people will be determined to have been killed. we know that many people were treated on scene. we know that 27 people taken to local area hospitals, six of them are critical.
