inside and outside the zumiez store, witnesses say the two victims, store employees, 21- year-old brianna benlolo and 25- year-old tyler johnson were shot and killed. aguilar lived in this college park, maryland home with his mother, approximately four blocks from benlolo's home, investigators say he was a loner. when they searched the house law enforcement forces say they recovered a journal with entries that suggested aguilar had been unhappy with his life. the weapon, a mossberg 12-gauge shotgun similar to this one was sold from a licensed dealer in maryland in december in a state with some of the toughest gun laws in the country, after the newtown shootings, state legislators enacted new gun laws, including a ban on the sale of all ak-47 style weapons, and magazines holding more than ten bullets. the 19 year old suspect legally purchased the most powerful weapon he could buy. the same type of weapon used in the navy-yard shootings last year. so far, investigators have not found a direct link to the shooting victims as police tried to determine why it happened. investigators are trying

what i can also tell you is that it was on this second level of the mall at a skate shop called zumiezinvestigations say as well. but the police chief wouldn't tell some of those details earlier at a press conference so we're hoping to get more details at the press conference that is about to start any minute now, miguel. >> they did seem they wanted to give as much detail as possible. the one important point that the chief said was that this is over. is that your sense of things that are on the ground now that everyone who may have been involved in this shooting is either at a hospital or dead? >> oh, yes, miguel, that has been the case for a couple of hours now, that the situation has been over and that they have evacuated. we've seen some buses over at a movie theater that's off to my right where they were sending people once they got out of the mall. they were walking in single file lines and getting on to some buses and taking them, shuttle them over to some other establishments where they could meet up with family and friends and talk to investigators there. >> has the mall been

and the police say they got the first emergency call to zumiez and they were on site within two minutes. with e know that one was injured by gun fire and others by the shooter. and there is a lot that we don't know what is going on n. what do we need to know right now? >> well, right now, the investigators don't know the motive and what it is, and there is some talk of whether it is a domestic dispute is what a fellow investigator at one point told cnn but the howard county police have not confirmed, and they say it is possible, but the police chief said that they don't know the identity of the shooter. he apparently had lots of ammunition on him, and they thought that perhaps he could have had explosives on him, but it took a long time for them to get through all of that, and so we don't know the identity of the shooter. we also of course don't know when the mall is going to open again. this is a big crime scene all day long, and the mall op eratos the are basically going to have to determine when that is going to be and the howard county executives don't yet know when that is going to
