WEBVTT 00:00.000 --> 00:07.640 The broadcast of The Evil of the Daleks, part 7, on July 1st brought to a close Doctor Who's 00:07.640 --> 00:13.240 fourth season on television. The production block, however, would continue with The Tomb 00:13.240 --> 00:19.440 of the Cybermen, which would be held over to start season 5. Only episode 2 of the story 00:19.440 --> 00:24.560 exists in the archives, having been famously returned alongside episode 3 of The Faceless 00:24.560 --> 00:31.440 Ones by Gordon Hendry after he bought them from a car boot sale. There also exists a 00:31.440 --> 00:36.960 clip of the toy Daleks used in the serial, which begins with the toy being held, then 00:36.960 --> 00:44.800 released, the end part of which may possibly have featured in episode 7. In addition, there 00:44.800 --> 00:50.920 is footage of the Emperor Dalek and the model filming as taken by Tony Cornell which, whilst 00:50.920 --> 00:56.640 not actual footage from the story, illustrates what would have been seen on screen. The story 00:56.640 --> 01:02.560 was one of Troughton's favourites, and in the 80s he would even bandy about the idea 01:02.560 --> 01:07.880 of it being made into a feature film. Terry Nation's plans for an American Dalek series 01:07.880 --> 01:12.960 were never realised, so The Evil of the Daleks was the last appearance of the Daleks for 01:12.960 --> 01:20.960 over four years, until they finally returned to face John Pertwee's Doctor in the 1972 01:20.960 --> 01:43.480 The Day of the Daleks.
