Hi!
With the new search view, there are some difficulties with the current look of search:
1. When searching, the most relevant match no longer comes up at the top of the results, but may end up deep at the bottom of the list(
2. The constant annoying pop-ups just kill your eyes. It would be nice to be able to switch them off completely.
3. It is no longer possible to instantly open a book with the right mouse button on a new tab (using a browser extension), you have to make an additional click on the menu, as if you are still in the 2000s.
4. Zooming and font size control extensions no longer work, and the text on the page is either too small or huge, which also puts strain on the eyes.
I know search engine has been changing for a while now and old good legacy search was turned off for some reason, but you could still use 'all text search' and that saved the day. The current look of the gui is so depressing.

Well, they probably have nothing to do with the browser extensions, so it's not their fault (unless they do?).
But their fault is breaking the search within a collection (with subcollections), at the very least.

I'm not talking about extensions per se, what I'm saying is that it's not friendly html anymore. The appearance has changed and not for the better. The familiar way of working has changed too much and there are unnecessary complications at every step. For example, book cards in the tile view - it is very difficult to see the cover itself, but there are huge white fields around 'em, for what?

Hello, and the problem with the view of collections is other: is much more inaccessible for blind users.
The search mode is bad, the preview was excelent, the view of the upload's list from users is okay, just to 21 July the view of the items's collections was okay, but now, for blind users, is very very hard, and you was lost the compatibility with a various versions of the browsers, only because thes actualization. The site works perfectly in Firefox 52 or Chrome 45, for example, listing the uploads from users, in the blog, all in your website works perfectly in Firefox 52 or Chrome 45. But the items of collections, simse 21 July, not. And, in Windows 10, is possible to view te list of the items in the collections, for a blind users. But is not user friendly, in the tyle or the list view. Please, considere return to preview mode.

Yes, dear, that's exactly what I'm talking about - the new gui is totally unfriendly to the eyes. My eyesight is quite poor, and if before it was possible to orientate on the covers, now I have to read out the titles. It's almost impossible to enlarge the cover cards, as the margins are mostly enlarged, but the covers themselves remain minuscule. This is completely inhuman. And, yes, the search engine is broken!
PS And then there's these popups coming in

Have you looked at the advanced search options?

I prefer to use the search keywords from the main search (metadata):
collection:(name_of_the_collection) AND year_to_search
(or with date:year_to_search).
In some collections you can still view/search items by date from the collections page/ui, and in others it doesn't work.
