what happens now >> hey fred. so now that the migrant welcome center is closed, what happens is that border patrol agents go back to doing what they were doing before it was open. and that's dropping off these adult migrants transit center in san ysidro, california. but this exposes the problem and it has been criticized and people are wondering who then is responsible for these migrants after they're processed and released by border patrol agents. there are some that have said that it's not safe to have these migrants being dropped off at the transit center, especially when you're talking about dozens and dozens of migrants dropped off at the same time. now, keep in mind those $6 came after the county of san diego declared a humanitarian crisis because of an influx of migrants crossing in this area. and the non-profit groups that we've talked to have told us? yes, they've seen an increase. they saw a decrease he said some point and have again, been seeing those numbers go up. it takes about 1 to run a center like

first, fred, i want to just give you some context about what happened yesterday evening. one of the officials that's been really offering updates on what occurred, saying that this is the worst kind of call that firefighters could respond to being a report of a gas odor. this was yesterday evening, fire officials arrive there in sterling, virginia, which is actually just north of washington dulles airport. shortly after they arrived, they located what was described as a 500 gallon underground propane tank and it apparently had a leak in it that's when they immediately called hazmat services and it was shortly after that that what's been described as a catastrophic explosion happened the result was at least one firefighter killed and nearly a dozen other people injured. a majority of them firefighters who were injured, and at least two civilians who were at home at the time. look at the pictures, friend only the chimney the fight, the fire place. there is the only thing that remained with that smoke billowing from the scene here again, that catastrophic explosion we do und

fred? >> and then in terms of campaigning in south carolina, are we seeing from trump a different style? different strategy than when visiting other states? >> reporter: yeah, well truly interesting because his strategy here is a lot more laid back than what we saw in some of the other early nominating states. particularly when you looked at iowa and new hampshire. donald trump's team had aggressively crisscrossed those states in the lead up to the primaries in this caucuses in iowa and new hampshire. they're still doing that here. donald trump is expected to come and visit this state several more times before the primary in two weeks but it is a very much laid back style to their strategy than with the other states. part of that again is just because of their confidence here. even though it is nikki haley's backyard, this is her home state, they feel very good about how donald trump will perform here and they really do believe that this state will help them in their hope of clinching enoug
