um, as i said during general public comment, i put a lot of responsibility on supervisor rafael mandelman for withholding this tape for four months and not putting it out before the public. um, i think that, um, there is a need for you and the department to bring a lot more information to what we're seeing in that video show and how it may relate to, um, better community policing and also helping the small businesses across the city, not just the small businesses in the castro. so i wish you had addressed that during your comments. thank you. thank you. uh, if i could just and i apologize because you did ask me to address that. um, there was a press release that the department put out just on that particular incident. so just for the public, the incident that was referred to was a burglary in the castro. uh, that happened in september. um, there was a press release that was put out, i think nbc bay area had a story on it last week. and, um, the department review, body worn camera footage on that. and this is what is in the press release as far as the first responding officer actually did

. >> i am comfortable with the legislation as supervisor rafael mandelman calls it, the molasses of city government. >> i don't think we're actually advancing our social policy goals one bit, and in fact, we're holding them back to the extent that we make san francisco this great blue progressive city, look like a basket case that can't get anything done. so just this week , the health department became the second city department allowed to circumvent the lengthy contracting process. so that it can purchase get this beds for those with mental health and substance use disorders. now, because the city had to do all the though, all those checks and balances, san francisco was losing out to other cities and counties when it came to purchasing beds. mayor breed had to introduce that legislation, and the board of supervisors had to approve it. on tuesday. wow. i love cumbersome molasses. yeah, yeah, certainly. yeah, he's used that navigate. >> all right. well, six months until major changes at san jose's regional medical center. why it will close its trauma center. and what will patients do mi

the health department says the expansion has led to more than 2500 beds, but supervisor rafael mandelman says their numbers may not be accurate. >> they believe, and they are telling us that they are close to having added those beds, but they have some key footnotes that are concerning to us. one is 15 to 20% of those beds may be unavailable because of staffing challenges. >> the salvation army's harbor light center has 136 beds. the city funds 65 of them. they're urging the health department to pay for more treatment. beds in the city. supervisors plan to request a follow up with the health department for clarity on the number of beds available. >> a high school student in oklahoma who died one day after an altercation in a school bathroom did not die as a result of their injuries. >> that's according to police. they say the altercation may have been prompted by bullying over the 16 year old's non-binary gender identity. the teenager has been identified as next benedict. their family claims benedict was attacked and assaulted by a group of students in the bathroom. police have not revea
