it happened around 4:20 this morning near the john daly boulevard off-ramp in daly city.a pedestrian on the freeway. mike has been tracking the backup. how are we looking now? >> because the volume is starting to build and this is a time when we see more commuters hit the bay, we are looking at more slowing. we predicted that would happen if they did not clear by this time. the last half hour, showing more slowing approaching john daly boulevard. two left lanes are open, three lanes blocked. 101 is cleared. you have a choice north of 380 to the airport and take 101 into the city. there's a build for the rest of the bay, relatively mild because of the second crash -- actually the first one. this alert was issued before 2:00 in the morning. west 580 has one lane blocked past grant line road, and out of the altamont there's big backups towards vasco, and one of the options to relieve some of the pressure off of 205,and that makes the traffic through 580 much clearer, and we are looking at possibly 9:00. have not had an update. >>> today in the bay's, ginger conejero saab, jo

first off is that trouble spot in daly city.s for over an hour northbound 280 just past highway 1. deadly crash unfortunately. still lanes are closed heading through there. three lanes and you have two lanes that you are squeezing byin and traffic sort of bottlenecks in the area because of that. hopefully they can clear the cars out of the area. but there was an investigation as well because it was a deadly crash. so just be extra careful as you commute in and around there. the traffic isn't too bad because it's still quite early. here's our other major trouble spot. this is westbound 580 right around grant line road overturned big rig and it's blocking at least that right lane. but traffic again very busy coming all the way out of tracy and mountain house area all the way into the altamont pass. it's windy here as well. and traffic is definitely backed up. pretty significantly and give yourself extra time and a supercommuter you are going to need a lot of extra time trying to head to the dublin interchange or work your way all

new this morning, a pedestrian was struck and killed on to 80 in daly city. it happened at 4.30 this morning near the jon daly boulevard. on-ramp going northbound. there was a crash and that's where they found a pedestrian lying in front of the car and died at the scene. we don't know about the driver involved at all. that's something that just happened this morning. >> in the east bay berkeley, firefighters are responding to a fire in the hills right near the uc berkeley campus this morning and alert went out to students that this fire was burning in the hills east of campus. the alert was issued about 8.15, this morning. no uc berkeley buildings are threatened by that fire. but students were warned they may see smoke in the area. and obviously with today being as windy as it is, that is a concern for firefighters. happening tonight. the bay area law firm is hosting a town hall meeting to discuss recent flaring and chemical releases out at the martinez refinery. the firm has been helping residents there that have harmed by the chemicals. the meeting is set t
