just a few light showers over fairfax, approaching marin wood. the east bay, we see light rain through san leandro, 580, castro valley. another range we're looking at for light rain is along highway 17 in the santa cruz mountains, scotts valley approaching lexington hill. just be careful with all of that water that other cars are picking up in the roadways in front of you. as we take a look at what to expect, we're starting off with a frost advisory for the north bay as they dip into the 30s. we have cloudy skies and chances of rain through the middle of the week. better clearing in the seven-day forecast. >>> mike is showing you an alert on highway 101. >> the issue is if you're photographing out of novato and heading sought toward san francisco or even toward san rafael, you do have this crash. there is actually a second crash in the area, one just before, one after ignacio boulevard. highway 37 is moving smoothly, but that is the main connecter for folks on that side of the north bay crossing over and heading south. we're looking south of ther

so right now for the most part it's pretty light through fairfax. notice 101 and richmond, san francisco just got a good amount of rain that moved through. concord catching a break now, livermore through fremont. now the rain is starting to move back into san jose because of the movement of this system. and it's going to continue like that. but it's quick moving and it's not packing a big punch with rain totals. if you look at the key color index, less than a tenth of an inch in the blue, and then the darker color is about a quarter for some of those coastal mountains. you're going to notice wind speeds picking up. this is right around 4:00, santa rosa, san francisco, through oakland, stretching through redwood city. we will definitely notice the winds begin to kind of gust. this is behind that cold front moving through. as the system continues to push through the bay area, we're going to keep the gusty winds. here is how much more snow we're expecting. again, there is a winter storm advisory in effect for some of these areas, but a lot of this snow

, most of fairfax county, fairfax city in it, the 11th congressional district. 7 p 5% of the white population, college degrees. these are some of the highest numbers you'll see in the suburbs. loudoun county, we talked a lot about that in the 2021 republican primaries. just under 60% of the vote in that district that fits that haley profile. what does that add up to in virginia? three congressional districts that haley has a chance to win. if she can get a lot of crossover vote. virginia is an open primary. if they don't like trump and consider themselves independent, if they flood the polls in that part of the state around richmond, could that be enough to put the state in play for nikki haley? that's one to watch. you go into it tonight on paper, they are likely. in a dream scenario, she's on her way to winning vermont and she's looking like she might have a shot to win virginia. that would be the shot she wants and that would open up other possibilities later in the night we can talk about. these are very good benchmarks in vermont and virginia and north carolina at 7:30. in these states i

fairfax remains to see the heaviest downpour tonight. and here's the future cast model so midnight. we're going to be raining towards the east bay. you can see that yellow sell their that be moving towards oakland and fremont and then it starts to taper off by the overnight hours. and then monday morning's commute looks dry. you can expect a similar pattern for monday night into tuesday. so you can see this is lunchtime monday and then monday at dinner time that rain come through in the overnight hours. so this is tuesday overnight and then the commute tuesday looks cloudy. but we look dry for the day and then we dry out for the rest of the week. this is wednesday. we are going to see some nice sunshine spring is coming. so here's the projected rain totals. it looks like it's scaled back now. it was almost half an inch about an hour ago. these models tend to change here and there. so we'll see what verifies. but we can at least say at least a quarter of an inch to half an inch for the north bay over the next few days. and as speaking of the cra here, we have a winter weather advisor
