collins, is following all of this. first, caitlin, what, what are we hearing from trump's lawyers now about the gag order >> this is an interesting development, wolf it and essentially it's trump's attorneys responding to a letter from the district attorney here in manhattan, alvin bragg, that he's sent to judge more sean. that is the judge that is overseeing trump's criminal hush money trial that is scheduled to begin in just a few weeks, and also the judge to impose that partial gag order on trump in recent days, trump of of course, has not attacked the people who that gag order applies to, but he has gone after the judge multiple times and the judges daughter that as clearly prompted the da's office to send a letter to the judge asking him to clarify if that gag order applies to family members, not just of the judge, but of the district attorney's office and others and they say that they have had potential witnesses in this trial who have grave concerns about threats to them, about their safety trump's team is respo

so in addition to that june 3 moment that he was speaking about with kaitlan collins is there. brian butler also was privy to a number of conversations where color carlos de olivera, this codefendant, appear to be talking about the alleged cover up, the interests in surveillance tapes and the interests in having an attorney represent him through the trump world know butler did not have an attorney represented through the trump world and is different from many in that sphere gave a poll and sexual live reporting. thank you very much. let's get some more on this. joining us now, cnn anchor and chief legal analyst laura coates, and cnn senior law enforcement analyst, andrew mccabe. so laura, how significant is this, what we just heard? >> it's very significant. it tells you a lot about what the investigators are most interested in in terms of who were the players involved back that he was really oblivious. it seems according to him, about what he was doing and the why. but notice some oddities, not just in the rearview mirror, but actually at the time wondering what was going on,

so the other thing that i notice about this witness, and it's in the write-up that kaitlan collins and katelyn polantz did, is this winter this is not eager to get trump. there's a moment when he tells them something like, i realized as the fbi was questioning me that my information was going to be used against trump and i didn't like that, but i felt important to tell the truth and so as a prosecutor, i think that's a really important indicator of credibility >> and kerry, would prosecutors likely have some sort of a deal in place with butler, this well, he hasn't been charged, so i think his fact there's a couple of things. so first, the facts are that are relayed in the interview that kaitlan has done, doesn't sound like he knowingly was a participant in the unauthorized mishandling of classified information. so it doesn't necessarily sound like he knew exactly what was going on, but he knew something's sort of squirrely was going on. so i'm not sure that there is evidence that the justice department has again, just based on this interview so far, that would indicate he could be cha

let's get straight to cnn's kaitlan collins, caitlyn, the judge has just rejected one of the motions. trump's lawyers argued in court today. tell us more take they spent >> about two hours this morning argument doing that this case should be dismissed because the law was too vague on around national security secrets and national defense documents judge aileen cannon it's about two-and-a-half hours after the hearing ended today and everyone disbursed from the court. she rejected that argument in a two-page order. she wrote that there it's too much contested here. that should be about what we tell the jury that this isn't a legal question that she was going to be agreeing with trump on at this time and she wasn't going to be giving him this ability to dismiss the case here, that this is something instead to talk about with the jury how the law should be applied. and interpreted here. what the jury should be told in this case. so very quickly, resolving one of the by my count, nine in different ways, donald trump is trying to get this case dismissed. we're still waiting to see what she d

that's according to new porting from my colleague kaitlan collins as he struggles to meet a monday deadline to come up with nearly half $1 to cover the judgment against him in his new york fraud case. and just this morning new york attorney general, letitia james told the judge that he should ignore trump's claim that he can't find an insurance company to help them pay cnn's kara scannell, going to meet live from new york, qarrah yes, anna. so this new filing from the new york attorney >> general's office, they're saying to the judge that trump is making this claim that he is tried to get a bond underwritten by 30 underwriters, that it's nearly impossible to get done they're saying that the judge should ignore it. it's essentially too late. they say for him to make this argument but the attorney general's office says if they are going to consider it, they want the appeals court to ask some more questions. essentially, they want to know what efforts trump actually made to get these to get a bond. what were the terms that were put forward trying to get to the bottom of death, trump does not l
