bay area it's about 200 miles off to the north. so we're beginning to see some rainfall increase on the doppler radar. just near the california oregon border. going to take a little time to get down here across the bay area. we really don't see that rainfall starting until about 5:00 up towards marin, napa, sonoma counties likely the heaviest here at 5 a.m. over cloverdale and guerneville. then this will really start to impact their the north bay by 7:00 in the morning. and then beginning in san francisco, we'll see some widespread rain through the east bay and peninsula. once we hit 9:00 in the morning. now remember all of this yellow and orange that our models are picking up on. those are some heavy downpours we're going to undergo through tomorrow morning, and that's how we get in on some higher totals. we'll see that rain certainly down to the south bay by 11:00 in the morning, and it's still be raining in the north bay by then and then eventually through the afternoon. this would start to get on out of here. so rainfall totals

this is the first gray whale death recorded in the bay area so far this year. well, today is national adopt a shelter pet day, and earlier today, on the fore, we met this cutie calista from oakland animal services during a visit to the studios. the one year old husky is ready to find a home many shelters here in the bay area and around the country are seeing longer than usual shelter stays. oakland animal services says it is offering reduced adoption fees for dogs, cats and other adoptable pets. and new at 730 tonight, santa rosa is bringing back its weekly summer night markets. starting next week, the night markets courthouse square on wednesday nights from 5 to 830. they'll feature live music, vendors and lots of food options. it's put on by a nonprofit group of local leaders, as well as volunteers. the first night market starts may 8th and runs weekly through july 31st. always a great time. nice to see those night markets back there in santa rosa. that's going to do it for me on this tuesday evening. really appreciate you joining me for the news at 730. don'

we've got a nice evening ahead for the bay area. here's the long-range outlook over the next few days. as we take you through the 13th and the 17th for temperatures and look at that. oh, boy, we've got some warm temperatures above average temperatures coming our way as we kind of settle in for the remainder of the week. so we've gone from one extreme to another from snow in the mountains to now some much warmer weather. fire weather forecast to looks little bit the elevated tomorrow, though, not a huge risk as we're seeing a lot of moisture still and much of the terrain around the bay area. but as we get a long, dry summer months ahead, that is all going to change. and here's long-range outlook for the summer, june july and august. and you can see toward the bay area, probably some he conditions for a slightly above the average as we head in toward the summer months. we'll just have to see how that all works out. but that's way looks right now in some long-range model. in the short term, though, we've got that offshore wind that wil

today's the warmest day of this week here in the bay area. and it almost feels summer-like in certain pockets of the bay. now down into the santa clara valley, we've been seeing 70s all week. now we're in the 80s. but we also had that last week so nothing to write home about. i will say though if you live near antioch, concord, walnut creek, some of the warmest weather we've had so far this year is happening for us today. upper 80s close to the 90s off in the east bay. we warm up into the 70s near redwood city. the coast is sitting beautiful with upper 60s today. low 70s into san francisco. 80s and 70s all throughout the north bay and wine country too. on top of that, we're also getting blue skies into this afternoon. it will be a little bit breezier though. this morning we've had really light wind especially along the coastline. however in the afternoon hours we can see wind gusts anywhere up to around 20 to 30 miles per hour from bodega bay down into half-moon bay and pushing its way inland all into the overnight hours tonight. other than t
