as you can see, you can see that the layout here, there's healdsburg, geyserville up toward the clover up toward cloverdale. here is a lake sonoma. as you can see right now pointed out for you. and then here is the point fire as we coming closer to get a better look at the terrain. and here is dry creek as you can see running right near the fire zone as far as the current conditions out there right now. now you probably have noticed the winds, even the bay area in general. the winds backed off this morning. they picked up this afternoon. they're still a bit of a breeze out there with winds gusting with these sites around the fire zone, around 14 to 16 to 17 miles an hour. the key change today was the overall wind flow. we had drier conditions out there and as a result, these relative humidity levels have been coming down, coming down quite a bit. so those moisture levels coming down, that's not a good development but still fire crews have been being prepped for the change in the wind flow and also with with the changing conditions out there. here's the forecast model. still breezy for

this fire first reported, as you mentioned, just west of geyserville, just after around 1230, actually, you can see the smoke billowing from the hillside right now. at last check from cal fire. this fire is sitting at some 300 acres, only 15% contained. mandatory evacuations are now in place for an area north and east of chemise road. south of stewarts point. skaggs spring road and west of dry creek. this is an area filled with vineyards, a number of homes, so cal fire crews are now actively working to protect structures in the area from both the skies. they are dumping water and with crews on the ground. they have dozers here. we spoke with one man just down the road from here, forced to leave his home as the fire neared. >> everything i owned is there, so, i'm kind of hesitant to leave, but i know i have to. so, normally, you know, the evacuation is kind of like a warning, and that's what i had heard. and so now it's mandatory . so i'm, you know, i grabbed what i could and i put it in a truck, and i'm trying to get out of here. >> so for residents forced to evacuate like him, a tempo

and i know there are several homes and vineyards in that area which is west of geyserville in sonoma county, near lake sonoma right there. so let's take a look at the wind speeds 13 miles per hour in santa rosa at this 10:00pm hours. so the winds have which is great news for cal fire and firefighters with the fire. a little closer look at the conditions near where the point fire is. healdsburg is reporting 3 miles per hour. wind speeds and windsor 9 miles per hour. so single digits at little closer there. but, yoa know, as you make your way up, hill, it is a bit breezy. so it will still remain breezy overnight. relative humidity will be bouncing back to close. 50%. so this is monday morning. now, 38% relative humidity in sonoma counties. you can see in santa rosa. but as i take you through the afternoon when that daytime heating comes up, we have some critical fire weather here. 8% relative humidity. so it is down to the single digits that's very concerning. you can also see parts of napa county and congress any on-field there down to the single digits as well as that is where that r

it has burned more than 1200 acres between geyserville and las lomas. one firefighter was hurt.hree structures were destroyed. the flames damaged two others. tonight that fire is 85% contained in the east bay. expect to see firefighters in yellow uniforms in the hills this week. but don't worry, it's just a drill. it's part of wildfire training exercises happening in berkeley, kensington and tilden park. the drills are happening tomorrow, wednesday and friday. crews do this every year to help them respond to real wildfires. berkeley fire says several fire agencies will be involved. it is no secret that the bay area ranks among the most expensive housing markets in the entire world, but a new report shows that the san jose area is becoming even more unaffordable. three organizations that got together, they crunched the numbers and looked at nearly 100 major housing markets across the world. and here's a look at the top tier under the dubious title of impossibly unaffordable hong kong. china number one sydney, australia. number two vancouver, canada three. and then comes san jose.

firefighters are close to containing the point fire, which has burned more than 1200 acres between geyserville and las lomas. one firefighter was hurt. three structures were damaged or destroyed. i should say the flames did damage two others. that fire is now 90% contained. so the second fire that's burning up north, that is the seitz fire, which is burning north of sacramento and colusa county. it is 48% contained in just over 19,000 acres burned. unfortunately for us californians, wildfires are a part of our life and so is the smoke that accompanies it. and the hot weather that precedes it. but the heat and smoke has never prompted an emergency response from the federal government, just the fires themselves. but a number of environmental, labor and health care groups, they're trying to change that. you might recall, last week that they started to pressure the to fema to declare extreme heat and wildfire smoke as major disasters, which could give state cities and counties money to better prepare with, for example, new cooling centers and air filtration systems in places like schools. reportin

it is mild up by the fire here, 68 degrees up in the north bay around geyserville healdsburg. 34% relative humidity and with very little wind this morning kind of settling some of the haze there in the smoke all throughout the bay. and then with that wind shift, it sort of gets pushed over into the east bay. and then as we get into your early or late tuesday night into wednesday, more of it settles from napa to sonoma. air quality is moderate. from san rafael to san francisco to san jose. it's actually pretty good right now in the north bay. but you can see for yourself. look at that. with all the particulate matter just kind of being pushed to the surface there. 59 in san jose, 54 in san francisco, and also from our east bay hills camera classic right there at the horizon with the pollutants 61 in fairfield. so if you are sensitive, we do have that air quality advisory. otherwise conditions won't be as bad today because the winds are shifting and they'll continue to bring in some cleaner air. but of course, we're hoping for no more fires, even though it's still dry out there. yeah. >> def

you can see highway 101 in reference or healdsburg to geyserville two.a cloverdale. and as we come in closer right now, you can see some of the terrain right around the fire zone. and this happens to be a dry creek. this little this little creek. right and right near the fire zone. and of course here is lake sonoma as we take a look at the current wind conditions, the current weather conditions around the fire zone, temperatures in the upper 70s to the low 80s. now the winds, it looks like, at least according to these sensors, not as strong as yesterday. there's still a bit of a breeze around 7 to 12 miles an hour. but the key change is a change in the overall wind flow. that means drier air moving into the area, and we have low relative humidity down right around 15 to 17, so there is still a bit of a breeze, but it's very dry out there. here is a look at the forecast models. we do put this into motion and you'll probably notice the winds were on the lighter side this morning. they're picking up this afternoon. it will still be breezy to windy for tonight. this is 1
