this after a late night shooting in vallejo. nbc bay area's bob redell joins us live there from the scene. well good morning to marcus 111 who lives here tells us this sounded like a war zone last night. like world war two. those are her words. we're on the 100 block of carolina street here in the saint vincent's hill neighborhood of vallejo, where i've counted at least four cars that were hit by stray bullets. you can see this one. i had a shot right there in the passenger side. and if you look around the back, there are four more bullet holes. holes. so this car loan was shot five times at least a vallejo police. this is new information. they tell us around 1130 last night that it was a 16 year old boy who was shot out here. and when the officers arrived, they said they tried life, perform life saving measures. but unfortunately, the young man died out here from his injuries. as you can see in this video, there are a lot of shell casings left on the ground, which gives you a sense of how many shots were fired. one man thought

so it in take the vallejo police department very long to get to that. let me show you video of the scene now. this was on the intersection of carolina and bute. it appears that maybe all the shots rang out side of the senior complex. i'm still trying to confirm that, but i can tell you, look at all of those evidence markers on the ground reportedly, it might have been a 16 year-old who was shot. this was one of 2 scenes. the other scene was about a quarter mile from this particular scene. so the vallejo police department, they were investigating on 2 fronts. this scene here. they finally picked up at around 7, 37, 40 in the morning. all those evidence markers, we don't have a description of the victim or the suspect who they are looking for or a possible motive. but again, this was a very violent overnight in the city of allay, hoping to hear more from the public information officer on exactly what went down that you can imagine quiet overnight and all of a sudden all the shots just by the indicator of those evidence markers just simply rang out. back t
