to see other countries do more. they have made the commitment to do 2%. he would like to see them fulfill that. the united states has surpassed that and is caring that burden. he would like to see other countries step up and do the part. >> speaking of angela merkel, what is the reaction to the reverse of her stance on immigration? is it different issues between the u.s. and germany? >> the president is focused on trying to fix the problem we have here. he would like to see congress stop political grandstanding and come up with solutions and work to fix the problem. we're going into the holiday weekend. is the president committed to no longer calling journalists the enemy of the people? >> we have respect for the press. said there are a

number of great people in the press. asked ispresident has what we do have respect, we know they have a responsibility to put out accurate information. we hope we can continue to work together. >> what happened with the capital gazette paper -- the mayor said it was denied. it is now approved. >> as soon as the president heard about the request made by outmayor, he asked we reach and verify the mayor had made the request. we did, the president asked the flag be lowered. >> did his staff not tell him? >> i am not sure. there is a certain protocol that is followed. once the president heard about request, he ordered the flags be lowered. the proclamation is going out in the next three minutes.
