security component. we want to work with mexico. that is why the president has been asking for mexico to do more. we are going to build a wall and secure the border. the president is going to do what is best. said t have they [inaudible] them have asked of repeatedly and told them they have to do more. don't forget the average individual that crosses over the southern border of mexico, it takes 21 days before they reach the united states. that gives them three weeks to break up these large groups. thatd over 1000 people moved in a group through mexico and came to our border untouched. they could have broken up this group and arrested them or send them home. they did not do anything. we are asking mexico to enforce their own laws and help stop the

people coming in from central america. we have seen an influx of people from that region. they have the authority to deal with it. a couple of questions, the markets are responding poorly to be president's latest tariff threat. should consumers bear the brunt? >> they shouldn't. congress should fix the laws and we would not have this problem. mexico should engage with us and we should not have to take additional steps. the number one duty to president has his national security and protect americans. if we don't have security at our border and we can't process people coming in and we are overrun, as the numbers get worse and worse, the president has an obligation to do something. even democrats are starting to

admit it is a humanitarian crisis. it has to be dealt with. the president is the only one that is stepping up to stop it. has the administration confirm the reports that multiple people were executed in north korea? not going to comment. we are monitoring the situation and continuing to stay focused on our goal, which is denuclearization. the tariffs are based on emergency powers which have been challenged in court. there is a possibility of economic disruption. >> the president has the legal authority to do this.

that gives him much broader authority then he has taken. this is a measured response to the authority he has. there is case law that supports .t again, the president is going to feel his duty. just last month the president was praising mexico for stepping up and doing more. what changed between then and now to prompt him to make this announcement yesterday? can you offer details about how you will gauge mexico's progress? are there numbers your targeting? >> they've done some, not enough . they have the ability and authority to do a lot more than they are doing. again, a massive number of these individuals are coming from central america. that is where we of seen the greatest increase come from. outrageous numbers all the way through the southern border

through mexico into the united states. that takes 21 days. they are moving in caravans. they have the ability to stop it. they have the legal authority to return them back home. something we don't have the united states. this is imperative. it will make a difference. we are asking them to do that. nafta is currently the law of the land. tariffs are not allowed at this point. how are you going to handle that? concernedsident is about national security. that is his number one focus. did you have a specific list of things mexico needs to do? >> one of the biggest things is repatriation of the thousands of people coming from central america. they can return them home. they can stop these caravans.

that would be a very big first step. we have made some progress. we need to do more. we are hopeful they will do that. >> after the tweet last night from president trump, have the leader spoken? >> they have not. the teams have been in communication. we have been talking to mexico for months asking them to step up and do more. why did the president blindside his own party? >> he didn't. if it bulletins were not aware, they have not been painted tension. members of congress prior to the statement yesterday. at the same time anybody in this country or the world that says they are surprised by this has been living under a rock. the president has been crystal clear we have to take action.
