michigan shows that the landscape is changing out there among the voters. look at this, in ohio donald trump leads hillary clinton by one point. in pennsylvania hillary clinton is up by three. that's less than she was and in michigan she leads donald trump by 5 1/2 points approximately. it shows a narrowing of the gap there as well. the reason why donald trump is doing better is independent voters, particularly in ohio and pennsylvania. in ohio he leads her by 13 points among independents. in pennsylvania the lead is 6 points. in michigan they're pretty much even up when it comes to independent voters. in michigan, donald trump leads hillary clinton by 12 points. one of the reasons why the gap is narrowing there. in ohio though she leads him by 18 points among young voters. in pennsylvania the lead is about three points. nationally as well the numbers are starting to get closer. new monmouth poll show that

she's up. a trump campaign said the polls would narrow. he starts to change the language on immigration. yesterday his running mate, mike pence, campaigning in georgia said voters are getting tired of the let's playbook. here's pence. >> the playbook of division, dividing us along racial lines once again. you all have heard it. the hot speeches last week by hillary clinton and by her running mate. the american people are tired of politicians who divide the american people to unite their support and win elections. i truly believe that. >> donald trump got in late last night, as did we. he has a couple of fundraisers today that he jets off to everett, washington, north of

no votes in congress. it's small group of people telling people what they're get, and the undemocratic nature is a problem. this is a democracy, this is how we're raised and the american people aren't being asked what think think of this. >> on top of that, do you know who also is in the dark, the governors of the states. they have no idea what's happening. no one is even checking with them. that fundamentally is wrong. >> exactly. another issue is that the makeup of these refugees doesn't match what happen -- what's going on in syria. you know, at the start of the war, 10% of syrians were christians. and 98% of the refugees that we have taken in this country muslims and only half a percent are christians that brings up the question, is this a political thing? >> gotcha. >> christian refugees are overwhelmingly republicans and muslims are overwhelmingly democrats. are they importing new voters? i think it's a good question. >> i know you'll be writing ain about it in the daily caller. thank you. disturbing new threat to democracy, hackers are going

and we are confident information has flowed out from those e-mail exchanges, costing people their lives. we don't know what else is out there. we don't know what else is in jeopardy. that's what's very serious about this. is that we know what happened. they had a private server so they can keep secret their conversations together so they wouldn't be embarrassed politically or whatever reason. in doing that they put americans and our allies' lives in jeopardy. that's how serious this is. and this isn't small potatoes. this is clearly i think a national security issue that the former secretary of state of america was involved with, knew exactly what they were doing, and i would suggest to you that there are very serious criminal and obviously national security issues at the real root and

foundation of this. >> maybe that's why the federal judge has said these have to be released before the election. let me read one of the e-mails that citizen united gave exclusively to fox. huma abedin said those of us in the russian traveling party will be leaving blackberries on the airport once we touch down in moscow tonight. are they taking them from you because your clinton e-mail dotcom should work. she said it's for security reasons i don't want to use that other -- that one either. >> they knew. >> why are you shaking your head? >> it tells us exactly what we know. is that there is sensitive information that could put people's lives in jeopardy. that they casually handled and listen, we got friends in the military. if they did that, they would have been court-martialed. >> they have been. >> i have talked to young navy s.e.a.l.s that were deployed

halfway around the world. they said they left a secret document on a desk for five minutes and almost lost their ability to serve this country. that is -- that's the seriousness of what we're talking about. and this is the secretary of state and one of the high ranking officials and this relationship with this foundation and the secretary of state's office is -- i mean, this is past troubling. i mean, from my perspective i think you lose all confidence in an individual who will handle material like and then stand up in front of us and say i want to be your president. >> they said over and over again this is a job interview. how is the job interview is going, if you want to know how you'll be as president, we could look at how you were as secretary of state. >> i understand people wanting their team to win. i understand that. i've competed in this arena before. but when you start talking about

our young men and women in the military's lives and casually dealing with information that could literally cost them their lives -- >> you said it has. in what way -- >> well, the iranian scientist for one, clearly, clearly that iranian individual lost their lives because of information that came out of the clinton server. >> so you have the sign -- so allegedly the scientist defected, he went back to iran and he was killed when he went back. >> heard the server could have been hacked and people have information and sources and methods can get people killed. >> yes, sir. and that's clearly what's happened here. >> governor perry, i know that you have praised donald trump for his immigration stance. many people are saying he's softening on it, but he's still going to build that wall and build it in your state, texas. what are your thoughts? >> well, donald trump's focused on securing this country. making us whether we're sitting

on a set here in new york city or whether we're in south texas safe. and know that border is not being used to penetrate be people who would do harm to us and that's exactly what's going on today. we know that. i have been briefed as late as the last 30 days by individuals who are involved in the texas effort to secure that border. donald trump's not softening his position on immigration. i think there's a lot of talking heads around here that try to get -- you know, oh, grab a word here or there. donald trump is going to secure that border and all in the different ways you have to do that. part of that is a wall. part of it is electronics, aviation assets, boots on the ground. he is ghitded to -- he is committed not only to immigration reform that lets the people we want in this country, but those who came in overstayed their visas, those that are criminal elements. those individuals are going to be rounded up and dealt with appropriately. >> well, you speak with him

regularly. and there's very few people in the republican party who know firsthand about what's going on at the border than you. you know you can't build a wall -- physically you can't build a wall through arizona and through texas, and you got eviscerated four years ago when you were running for president because you said you wanted to give some students -- illegals who group their whole lives in state tuition breaks. do you see republicans showing a little bit more give in the general as opposed to the primary process? >> well, over the course of the last four years, i did a really poor job of explaining why we did what we did in texas. this is an economic issue for us. these kids are here, they're not going away. they may have been born 60 miles off the border and for the last 16 of their 18 they have been in texas, they have done their work, they're going to be here. we required them to be in the queue to get their citizenship. we want good hard working people in this country. we want to have a relationship with mexico, but mexico needs to

understand something, they have to deal their part on dealing with the drug cartels and dealing with those individuals who are bad character and securing that border and donald trump will secure the border. donald trump will do the things that's required to make sure that americans know that they are safe and that that border is not being used to be penetrated by those who could do harm to us. >> we have to get your comment on a story going across the station right now. remember the dallas cowboys wanted to is put a decal on their helmet to support the dallas police. >> they were told no, by the way. >> they couldn't put a decal on the helmet and colin kaepernick said i won't stand for the national anthem because it represents oppression. what do you think of the protest, he won't stand for the anthem in the week 1, which is the week of 9/11. >> well, we all make decisions. i don't agree with it.

the reason i wear this blue american flag is because i want to stand up with our men and women of law enforcement. for some reason or other, he doesn't understand that we have laws in this country. and that if there are law enforcement that have done harm to individuals, it's addressed. but the message he's sending is that somehow or other, our police officers are bad people and they're out there looking to do harm to minorities and that's just a false narrative. and for that one, i would suggest mr. kaepernick needs to apologize. if he wants to sit during the national anthem, you and i fought for his right to do that. there are men and women around the globe today that will continue to do that. i don't think it's smart. i don't think in 20 years as he looks back on this and he looks at his career and his life that it's one of his proudest moments. >> thank you, governor. >> thank you very much. >> we wish you all the best. looking forward to the

safety. the city's mayor is now trying to track down these heroes to honor them. secretary of state john kerry just came one a soluti solution -- came up with a solution to end violent terror attacks around the world. his idea -- tell the media to stop reporting on terrorism. kerry making the statement during his first official visit to bangladesh saying quote, if you decide one day you're going to be a terrorist and you're willing to kill yourself, you can go out and kill some people, and make some noise, perhaps the media would do us all a service if they didn't cover it quite as much. people then wouldn't know what's going on. really? from our secretary of state. that man wanted to be president of the united states. all right. those are your headlines. let's go back over to you. stuart, welcome back. >> he's got the keys to the state department? unbelievable. obamacare enrollment at an all-time low as major insurance companies report huge financial

losses and they're going to stop offering plans altogether. >> the white house scrambling to make big changes but can it be fixed? here to react. stuart varney host of "varney & co." on the fox business network. >> okay, they're going to try to freak -- tweak obamacare from the downward spiral. here are the tweaks. three main tweaks they have in mind. number one, advertise to young people to try and get young, healthy people to sign up. number two, trying to tighten the rules so that you can't just sign up when you get sick. i don't know how they'll do that because that can affect the basics of obamacare, but they'll try. and number three, the bronze plans which are already the cheapest, they want to make them cheaper. but saying nothing about the astronomical deductibles associated with the bronze plan. three tweaks won't work. obamacare is in terminal decline. >> it's unbelievable.

the most underrated major story in the country by far. that's why they're having the emergency meeting under the wire. this according to the kaiser, a third of the customers only have one insurance option. look at who's lost money. united lost $1 billion. health care service core, $2 billion. high mark, $600 million. blue cross/blue shield, $400 million. >> you have the story. >> by the way, they're to blame. they didn't sign on, they wouldn't be in obamacare so now you're dropping out. aetna dropping out. leaving us no options. >> major carriers are dropping out and they're withdrawing because they're losing their shirts quite frankly. $1 billion for one. they drop out, that limits choice for consumers so there's no competition amongst consumers. you have a monopoly in five states. only one carrier in five states. in pinellas county in arizona, the size of connecticut, there

>> it's smaller balls. i used to play softball. you can throw, it's like candle pin bowling. bowling brings people together. i think it's great you're promoting it. >> it's on the plaza and our faces are on the bowl. so we can't resist. >> awesome. >> all right. >> let's get started. laura, we have a fox news alert. a federal judge is ordering the state department to hand over all of the e-mails from huma abedin and they want he's e-mails before the election. we just got an exclusive look at some of these e-mails. >> here's one of those messages, laura. citizens united has this -- abedin wrote to her staff, those of us in the russia traveling party will be leaving our blackberries in the plane and one of the aides says are they taking from you because your clinton e-mail dotcom should work and then abedin admits it's for security reasons. i don't want to use that one either. they're in russia, talking about e-mails and security and blackberries. what does this tell you? >> it tells you contrary to what they were all trying to tell us, you know, last year.

they understood there was security implications with the way that they were using e-mail. and it also once again demonstrates the interconnectedness between the found disand -- foundation and official government business. yet the clinton foundation ties and e-mails are all over it. obviously in 2009 that was during the whole attempt to reset our relations with russia. i'm not sure that was the exact trip, but that was the new effort to really start, you know, start at ground zero with the russians and begin anew our relationship with that country. and, you know, we have talked about, you know, followed with this uranium deal, with russian interests buying a third of one of our biggest uranium interests in the united states after donations going to the clinton foundation. so again, going back to the court order that thank goodness groups like judicial watch and citizen united are doing this on

behalf of the public. the clintons when they're in government, they will not admit to the truth unless they have something like dna evidence with the blue dress or a court order. you need a court order to get them to be transparent. that's what people watching are thinking about this election have to understand. when hillary is unchecked by the court, she will be unchecked, no one will hold her accountable. that's where we're going to be in hillary clinton is president. >> laura, you have all these e-mails that were -- that were not turned over. the fbi had to actually dig them up themselves and they used bleach bit to wipe the other e-mails. she pretended like she didn't know what was going on. if this is a long job interview, how is that going? no press conferences. no public events. barely a strong speech. there's no policies, there's no

mission statement. but a lot of fund-raisers out in the hamptons. how does that resonate with the average person? >> i think when you see the polls tighten especially in the swing states, brian, i think more people are starting to focus on this election frankly. more americans are focusing on it and the bottom line in all of this is that hillary clinton will try to -- you know, wait this out. run out the clock until election day. all she has is her big donors money to run a lot of negative ads and she has personal insults and attacks on trump. so trump's temperament, trump's crazy, and the ads. that's all she has. she will not discuss the record, what happened in the middle east in the wake of her time as secretary of state. she will not talk about the rise of china or the stagnating economy under obama. she will not discuss this because it's more of the same and the status quo. it's trump's -- you know, attacks on trump and the big

donors funding all the ads. that's the campaign. for all their -- well, trump not substantive, he's giving major speech on immigration tomorrow. major trade addresses. he's released his economic plan. and hillary clinton is literally hiding behind her big donors in santa monica and palo alto, all over the country. >> she's making the -- the entire campaign a referendum on trump. you mentioned the immigration -- major immigration speech he's going to give tomorrow night. a lot of spenglation about -- speculation about whether he backed down on the deportation approach, will it be a physical or a technical wall? how soft would be too soft and do you think he'll soften at all? >> i think the way that people are framing this is not quite right. i think in the end the way that -- most people will look at this is if you're okay with the way that the borders have been over the last eight years, very porous with all of the people

streaming across the border and just allowed to stay here, if you think that's okay, you need to vote for hillary. if you think we have to start enforcing the laws, we definitely need real border enforcement including a wall, part of it will have to be drone and technology. but you have to have a meaningful enforcement policy or i think he's right, we don't really have a country. it's either enforce the law or leave it the way it is. >> so there are certain aspects of it, laura. hey, we'll give a path to legalization. hey, we don't need a fence here. >> look, you know, i'm -- i wouldn't do any of that stuff. i mean, if that's the way they're going, well, that's the way that the campaign is thinking about that, that's not how i approach it. i wouldn't have ruled this out the way they're ruling it out. i don't know what they're doing on that. but i think for the regular people, seeing how their communities are affect by mass migration of illegal immigrants i think the choice is stark. i don't think his supporters are

going to say oh donald trump is not going to do immigration enforcement so we're going to vote for hillary. that wouldn't make any sense. we have to see what he says tomorrow. again, enforcement versus nonenforcement i think that's the dynamic. >> saturday, the big speech at the detroit church. the word is he's taking questions there too. >> they're worried. they're worried because you know in the pew poll shows trump at 16, 17% among african-americans. he's up over where romney was. they are freaking out over in brooklyn where the campaign -- clinton campaign headquarters is. it's making inroads. that's all they have, scare tactics with the minorities. >> and doing better in the swing states. >> and there was a tape of jesse jackson praising the communities in 2009. that's heather nauert. >> there she is. >> yes, good morning. did you hear about this story,

cuts her lead almost in half from earlier this month when she was leading by 13. the reason the numbers are tightening, the pivot to the general election. the outreach to african-americans and new talk about immigration. now we don't know if donald trump was up late or earlier or maybe getting a glass of water, but here's what he tweeted at 3:25 this morning. from day one i said that i was going to build a great wall in the southern border and much more. stop illegal immigration, watch on wednesday. he is vowing he's not backing down from that position. and his communication adviser jason miller said this a while ago. >> well, we deport people every year, but we have to do a better job than what president obama is doing. mr. trump said we'll start with criminal illegals. we have to go after the bad ones and get them out of here first. that's the number one priority. tomorrow night, mr. trump will give more of a broader vision of what we'll do about the illegal immigration problem.

on the plane when they landed in moscow. if they took them into russia then they could be hacked if they started to use them on the ground. what do you make of that? >> it's hard to overstate -- i mean, i lived in d.c. my whole adult life. you can't overstate the paranoia and the seriousness with which government officials in the executive branch take digital security. they really feel like at all levels that they are constantly under attack. so for the secretary of state to do something like this, everyone in her orbit is looking on appalled. i can't believe she's doing this. yet, again, nobody stops her. this just tells you exactly what it's like in hillary world. it's small, airless room where nobody tells the not a good thing. >> and what would the white house be like? this is the brain trust that could be running our country. this is the judgment that could be deciding our fate which brings us to an election day not as big, but certainly impactful. john mccain has a primary, marco rubio has a primary, and debbie

wasserman schultz has a primary. what do you think of the outsiders giving them a run for their money? >> well, you know, all three of these candidates, these office holders have been challenged by insurgencies and they have a shot of winning. this presidential race for -- where trump blew past 16 incumbents to get the job is an anomaly. it doesn't often happen. you're looking at a government run by long, long time incup bents. there are as many united states senators in their 70s or 80s as in their 50s. once you get elected it's very difficult to lose. you know, it's probably not the best way to run a government. but there's what we have. >> if hillary clinton is so dishonest, if you say they know things are going on, that -- that shouldn't be going on, they're just covering it up, shouldn't it be easy for whoever runs against her to win and what

does donald trump need to do? >> well, sure. the key number -- if you're running a campaign you don't long at these theoretical match-ups nationally. look at the right track wrong track number. are people happy with the direction of the company and they're very happy. that by definition favors the insurgent, that's donald trump. there are a couple of problems, one is immigration. there's been a massive demographic shift over the past 15 and especially the last ten years in states that are the swing states. so in places that you don't -- you know, you think of as a certain way. that would include ohio, north carolina, virginia, iowa, colorado, arizona, these have different populations than they had when you were in high school. they're just not the same places. so for example this morning in arizona, a state that mitt romney won 55-44 over the current president, you're seeing hillary clinton up a point. i think it's likely trump will win that in the end. but the fact that it's close is

telling you it's not about trump or hillary but about the people that live there. immigration has changed the population of the state and you're seeing that on a national scale. >> we see anti-establishment, toss the bums out, yet we see in primaries across the country, as you mentioned john mccain, marco rubio, debbie wasserman schultz, they're all up in the polls and likely to win. why do you see at the local level a lot of the candidates that some people have been frustrated with, why are they winning their primaries or likely to win them in the anti-establishment, insurgent type of year? >> a great question. john mccain who turned 80 yesterday, an obviously honorable man, out of step with the people in arizona on the question of immigration, he'll still probably win. debbie wasserman schultz, she'll probably win herself against tim cano canova. the starkest possible advantage of the advantages of incumbency.

breaches of their voter registration systems. in arizona, an official told "the washington post" this was a credible and significant threat, an eight on the scale of one to ten. the administration would like to secure funding to make sure that voting systems are protected the same way that we protect the power grid. while experts warn look out. this could be a major problem on election day. >> if we ended up having a razor thing election and there's any question of -- even a small number of votes that could create a crisis of confidence in the entire electoral process. >> reporter: now, this comes as senate minority leader harry reid is demanding an fbi investigation more broadly of donald trump's ties to russian president vladimir putin. reid writing to james comey, quote, the evidence of a direct connection between the russian government and donald trump's presidential campaign continues
