bank also was a problem heavily invested in crypto and these guys heavily invested in venture capital and the tech center of our economy. interest rates going up and people like peter thiel coming out saying i'm not too confident about the health of this bank had $42 billion throughout out shut down on friday made whole they say this is not a bailout. the silicon valley gang. talk about the oscars get to that in a little while. get to tech support. the federal government yesterday evening announced the failure of the manhattan bank, signature bank and they say that a second bank with deep ties to the tech industry. so, like you said, the crypto. they had some sort of a relationship with crypto

currency. so people used this bank that were invested in crypto. >> looks like a lot of the tech companies were definitely invested into this bank. i think there is multiple layers to this, brian. obviously as you noted the interest rates rising. all the money that was pumped into the market that was clear mismanagement at the bank. if you are a lot of people invested in the bank were way over the 250,000 mark everything we can tell you the regulators seem to have been asleep at the wheel. number two, i would say this. we just heard recently that they are going to really have the greatest form of corporate cronyism we have seen in a long time. they are going to ensure all the deposits even the ones over the $250,000 limit. which means that the most sophisticated investors are now going to have the insulation of the federal government. that's problematic. one thing we know for sure the american taxpayer should not be on the hook for this failure. we're going to do everything in our power to make sure that doesn't happen.

virology to the nih. not off the deep end that the american people want him held accountable and that's what our oversight hearings are going to do. >> brian: robert redfield said he was locked out of certain hearings cdc director wouldn't march in lock step that origins were from a bat out in a wet market. he says that absolutely didn't occur and it's unfortunate that robert redfield said that really in the other thing here we go. here is the nuances of anthony fauci he is saying okay, i didn't say it came from a lab but i didn't say it didn't come from a lab but i do think it came -- all the data shows it came from a natural occurrence, meaning a bat in a wet market. now listen to what is he doing. listen close. >> the lab leak could be that someone was out in the wild, maybe looking for different types of viruses in bats, got infected, went into a lab and was being studied in a lab and then came out of the lab.

if that's the definition of a lab leak, jim, then that still is a natural occurrence. >> brian: wow, see what he is doing? >> he is doing the same thing as we have heard again and again and that's why he is mistrusted by the american people. you know, in our hearing that we had last week, we have, again, the receipts that he was one of the authors and the genesis for the proximal origins and that, you know, he didn't take any ownership of that, no authorship of that, we know from scientific journals i have been published in peer review journals. there is supposed to be financial disclosure, any conflicts of interest. we know he pushed that along with dr. collins in order to obfuscate, you know, obscure and suppress that this came from a lab leak. so, this is just nonsense and, again, it's extraordinarily important that we know the origins. i said this after our first

hearing we had on origins back in june of 2001. the reason we need to know is that the international community we need to know what kind of research is being done. gain of function research prohibited. then the nih rescinded their predictprohibition. are they trying to hide this because there was indirect funding of gain of function research. was there personal financial gain? do they feel complicit that they allowed a type of research that may have led to the virus becoming more contagious and more easily transmitted in humans? so we need to know about lab safety. there was not proper oversight by nih or by ecohealth of this laboratory. there wasn't disclosure when they knew that the virus was contagious. and there was human-to-human transmission. so we need to know those things and that's why it's important that we know the origins and why why we have these oversight hearings to hold dr. fauci

yeah, we are going to back stop the lot, that is a very big political decision. so far, the jury is out on whether or not this the ripple from this crisis continues to spread. i have got to tell that you regional banks this morning, small smaller than the big money center banks one of them quite large. first republic that stock is down sharply premarket. so the ripples are continuing to fall through and we don't yet know whether this crisis has come to an end or stalled. we don't know that yet. >> what do we do for the folks who are watching who have money in banks? >> well, they may be tempted to take the money out but the fdic and the authorities are going to come in and say wait a minute, you are insured above and beyond $250,000 per depositor. that's what i would expect we haven't had it yet. so, i think everybody is watching this situation to see how am i going to be affected?

>> brian: yes. >> he does explosives and shows apprehension dogs. >> brian: what makes that breed so perfect for k-9? >> i think a lot of breeds in general. a lot of dogs do apprehension. a lot of different dog does detection. they have the stamina and able to do multiple different jobs that we ask them to do. they really narrow it down to german shepherds and stuff like that. >> lawrence: can you set the staining? obviously i work with a lot of operators doing this every single day like pat. can you really put into protection what they do to save this country on a day-to-day basis? >> i think what they do is they go out there and do the jobs that other normal humans can't do. that's not only overseas in iraq and afghanistan and places like that. that's right here protecting our military bases in the united states. those abroad. and our communities with our police k-9s, the dogs at the airport. the dogs that work for the united states marshall supervisors. protect our forces. we couldn't do what we do to
